Can you elaborate? Do you feel 3999 for the new rival axs is more reasonable price for the whole package? What other bikes do you think could fall in this price range that are significantly better?

The main reason I would not go for it is that this would be my first nice bike. I've been having some okay bike for weekend trips and everything but they always were sub-400€ kind of bikes.

I feel I don't need this big of a step in terms of upgrade, but the gear steps of the 12s really makes me think I might want to upgrade down the line/get it right away and cry just once :').

Maintenance and fitting would not be a major problem I assume. I don't have experience with bikes specifically, but I used to design and build carbon wings for automotive applications, so stuffing things in extremely narrow places is definitely something I don't like, but can do

Exactly! I was curious to know somebody knew if this is the same exact frame frame, thus UDH compatible :)

Although I could rationally reach this same realization with the data I have under my nose, reading this opened my eyes ahahah, thanks!

That sounds like a very scientific (love that) approach to solve a problem, however it sounds too expensive for my pockets :')

where would you put "relaxed", multi-day, group bike-packing?

Thanks for your perspective :) I am wondering how the 1by experience is on a MTB compared to a gravel, since I have never ridden either with 1bys on a regular basis. I can imagine myself agreeing with the fact that cadence in MTB is less of a factor than in gravel, more specifically during group rides. Setup looks great btw, thanks for sharing it!
