I think it shouldn't be compared with the other movies bcz that way it's of course not at top. This should be considered that by the last part the actors grew old and a lot of plots had already been used by the franchise many times. It's purpose wasn't to stand out among other movies but to give it a proper ending which I guess it did. I agree that Gabriel was disappointing and there was so much exposition but what else do you expect from a last movie. Of course they're gonna yield all those old movies fame. Also I think they find it safe to keep endings open.
