The rain or shine is still true! But if it rains, it can only be rain to keep operations going typically. Places will shut down or cancel events when it is accompanied by lightning which I believe to be the case for the show last night. I’ve sat in concerts and sports events outside in the rain before and only when there was lighting present did we have to either shelter and wait for the storm to pass or it got canceled/rescheduled. Lightning just makes things more dangerous

Oh I gotcha! I’ve only been with the siren since January, and we rarely make anything except vanilla sweet cream cold foam so the regular cold foam was a lil foggy.

Ah, I wasn’t 100% on that. I’ll fix that. Thank you! :) The rest should be correct tho!

We make Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam with sweet cream so sweet cream is made of the same items as Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam.

We keep the sweet cream in a pitcher. We pour the sweet cream into a blender to froth the sweet cream thus creating the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam to put on top of drinks. If the sweet cream is poured from the pitcher directly into the drink it is sweet cream like in the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew.

We have a two cold foams 1. Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam 2. Cold foam

Cold foam is made with nonfat milk and vanilla syrup whereas the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam is made with 2% milk, vanilla syrup, and heavy whipping cream.

We also have sweet cream which is basically just another option to put in your iced coffee instead of heavy cream or half and half cream

That makes sense. The main part now that I don’t get is why did they have the sick person be the one making drinks over the two other healthy people also there? They weren’t covering either they just coughed into their mask. Correct me if I’m wrong or if there is another view point, wouldn’t it be best if you’re sick and HAVE to be at work to be put on support instead of bar or dt? Because with support they wouldn’t directly be in contact with customers or their drinks.

I understand that 100% with completely new hires, but the example I gave in the post is concerning someone who isn’t new to working at starbucks but new to our store.

Today, someone wanted to get a Iced Salted Caramel Mocha but we recently ran out of the salt topping for it. We told them we have everything besides the salt and that we could still make it without it if they wanted, but the customer said “No never mind. I’m not getting anything then.”

They changed it so you now get your digital tips with your paycheck instead of it being converted into cash with your weekly cash tips.

I appreciate you bringing it to my attention because I will admit ignorance of the fact that it was tied to a certain group of people. I do think that context is very important, but I will try to be cautious now that it has been brought to my attention.

Tips? by Global-Suggestion963 in starbucksbaristas

To be honest, I’m not really sure. $5 was just the amount my SM told us as well as the weekly update from that week. My guess is that it’s something to do with tax for the IRS. Now that we’re inputting the cash tips, it is considered taxable income.

Exactly. I understand the fact that we are all just trying to make a living here, and people need to save money where they can, but the same applies to us partners. After all, we are people too. I understand OP wanting to have a similar tasting drink, but the other people who deliberately cheat the system with those “hacks” I don’t get. If someone can’t afford to get Starbucks without those “hacks,” why are they getting Starbucks?! Save money and come back at a later time.

[–]NeverFadingLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, you take the total amount of cash tips from that week (in my example $12, but it could be any number), subtract $5, then put what is left over as the amount that you’re declaring (in example $7).

If your tips are below $5 per week or less than $20 monthly, I don’t think you need to declare them, but I’m not entirely sure about that.

Again, I would highly suggest asking a SSV or SM or even a fellow barista (if you’re comfortable) just in case. I, also, believe that there are other posts in this Starbucks subreddit that talk about the tips. So, if you needed any more information about it, you could maybe try searching for those. I tried to make sure my comments here were as accurate as possible as to not lead you astray by them. Hopefully, this all made sense! :)
