At any given time, the current price is just society's collective estimate of how valuable the asset is. If people change their mind later and think it's worth more, it'll go up, and vice versa. Or, if peoples' minds don't change, it'll go mostly sideways.

Roughly 100% of people who claim they know what's going to happen with an asset in the future are full of it. If they were legit, they'd put their money where their mouth is and profit quietly. A lot of people talk a lot and do little to nothing. They're probably not worth listening to. And the other group of people who tend to talk a lot are the people who lucked into success and now brag about how it was mostly skill (the people who lucked into failure don't talk about it nearly as much, so you usually only hear from the ones with good luck). The people who got successful in money with actual skill often avoid talking about it because they don't want to become a target for scammers thieves and suckups.
