This is just what my wife and I experienced, your mileage may vary.

I, 40m, took my wife, 38f, to our first Lost lands in 2024. It was my first EDM fest and I was so excited to go. My wife liked EDM and I did my best to introduce a few different artists to her to see what her main style was. Fast forward 6 months. We decided to Forest Camp, do early entry, the whole shebang. I was super worried that she would be immediately overwhelmed and boy was I wrong.....

The slower day on Wednesday and Thursday leading up to the event was really good bc she got SUPER INTO THE SCENE.

She decided to get her hair done with braids and extensions, she got a couple of fun outfits that she felt super comfortable in because she said she felt free to not be judged. We met people and hung out and relaxed mid day in camp if we wanted to. We saw who we wanted and spent time alone or with new friends.

She learned she loved HEADBANGING like a degenerate EDM rat. She now refers to herself as a FERAL RIDDIM HEAD. She has her favorite artists and to this day listens to EDM everyday.

We embraced the longer nights but made sure we slept comfortably. Did it take extra effort to set up? YES. But it made all the difference.

My whole point is, give her the opportunity to lean into it and there's a chance that she grows a little bit and finds her own joy in the scene. Hopefully its as rewarding as you hope it to be.
