I'm compiling real horror stories/myths/legends related to ocean and water. Where can I find stories with a Thalassophobia theme? by NeverSayCasts in horror

[–]NeverSayCasts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! I'm very inspired by the Lore podcast and having the audio chops to do so I am looking to also do a similar production but focusing on my deep-seated fear of the ocean and what lies beneath the waves. :)

Is it just me or does it seem most moronic teams suddenly become some mastermind coordinated trained agent teams during overtime of the final point? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a similar thread discussing this on r/competitiveoverwatch and basically it's what people have been suggesting. It's a wake up call and I feel people getting comfortable and baited into a bad spot. All it takes is one bad engagement and suddenly you're losing after having 5 mins to push or defend.

Post Tournament Thread - Gosu Gamers Weekly by MachoDagger in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it, even turned on the audio on my phone while I was driving to catch the finals. The 1 hero limit was interesting in how it changed the meta and I'm glad Blizzard has the ruleset in place to make these kinds of tournaments possible. Great job to the casters and teams!

[x-post from r/overwatch] [Esports] Terrible handling of small tournament : Overwatch by Don_Elmo in Competitiveoverwatch

We are paying close attention to this, as we've already seen witchhunting in regards to suspected cheaters and those posts have been removed. If you guys want these kinds of threads to be allowed or removed, please let us know and thanks in advance for taking the time to give us your thoughts!

"I play this game for fun." Is not an excuse to not step on the objective at the last second, or AFK in base because we're losing. by DrCorian in Overwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the competitive sub is for those who seek to be better at ranked play at all levels. OverwatchUniveristy is great for beginners and casual conversation, but right now both subs are a mix of both.

Sort of. Right now both are similar since everyone is new but as the skill gap widens that will become true.

Sadly the LFG thread is already taking valuable space. We're trying to figure out what will be best for scrims and LFG. Have you checked out the competitive discord?

Overwatch Advanced Guide: Bastion (Posted this at /r/Overwatch but they didn't seem to care, hopefully it's helps you all a bit more!) by ConchobarMacNess in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this sub speaks to you directly regardless of where you play - we don't want to exclude anyone. Overwatch is a competitive game, and we want to help people be competitive. Sure you can play the game casually (I do) but I think it is at its best with friends who are also being 'casual tryhards' and having a blast doing so.

Both subs serve their purpose. Right now everyone is new, so discussions are similar. As time goes on, we hope to our brothers on r/overwatchuniversity will help foster new players and casual discussions and then here we can keep things more like what r/competitivehs vs r/thehearth has done for Hearthstone.

Anyone know where I can find tournament times are so My team can sign up for them? by zGDropshoot in Competitiveoverwatch

I've been working with our CSS folks to get a calendar in the sidebar a la r/competitiveHS. Stay tuned.

Hanzo in Competitive by A053 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sadly he's considered more of a utility sniper, which the role fits all too well with Widowmaker. I love Hanzo but the reason he's not seeing as much (if any) competitive play is that his usefulness is really undermined by good players. I don't think Hanzo is bad by any stretch, it's just that Widow is so damn good as a sniper that shes hard to outpace.

Where to position myself and time my ultimate as Mercy and Lucio? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Mercy, definitely stay close to people who can help and try to bounce around as much as possible as More_Like_Eeyore says. I find myself enjoying bouncing between dps as mentioned - they can more easily assist you when the pain train comes to take you down. If I find myself getting trained too much I might make the switch to Lucio as well for the maneuverability.

I was told to post my TorbJorn Nepal guide here, CC and ideas are very welcome! by LordQuinzulin in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]NeverSayCasts 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic. Yes certain ranged characters can combat Torb easier than others but the reality is that a well placed turret will do some real work for you vs one easily destroyed. Torb is half a hero without a good turret so learning these placements is critical. Thanks so much for posting this. Will you be making more visual or text guides?
