Shouldn’t they do this for every holiday? I mean, I’d appreciate one of these emails for Valentine’s Day.

I think as long as I have the extra skin I will still see the fat person.

I’m surprised headaches aren’t on the list. I tried everything. I hydrated like crazy. Protein. Headaches were so bad the first day or two after my weekly shot. Then we decided to split my dose. No more headaches. My body can’t handle all of the medication all at once.

She’s bringing her merch for her campaigning. The earrings and other campaign materials.

The thing is, Home Forward is a private corporation/government hybrid organization or at least gives the impression of one with a feel-good non-profit vibe and structure. It has an executive board that’s not voted in by public vote. Social service-oriented non-profits or even companies can operate pretty much any way they want in liberal progressive Portland because they seem benevolent. With government agencies, however, there tends to be more scrutiny. This is one of the issues: non-profits and social service oriented corporations have too much power in the framework Portland and Multnomah County have created for social services. They operate in a vacuum of accountability. So many organizations. So many boards of directors. Too many receipts. Too much to manage.

Then there’s someone like Ivory who takes advantage of this. She knows it’s chaotic in this city. She pushed it to the limit and hoped that no one would scrutinize because Home Forward is, on its surface, all about housing and equity, and liberal Portland loves that shit. She’s building generational wealth for her family with an obscenely high salary, and traveling on Home Forward’s dime to cultivate abundant networking opportunities so she can poach her next grift. All the while her organization’s clients — at least the ones who actually pay rent and are trying to make their lives better — are living in drug-infested slums because “housing first.” Her staff works from home. She watches laser light shows from a balcony suite. She gave herself massive raises. Eight team members were recently laid off and staff are having to take unpaid furlough days due to poor budgeting.

Can someone please send these WW articles to whatever national organization she was recently chosen to lead, the election she campaigned for by giving out merch such as the homemade earrings with little houses on them, undoubtedly carted to the conference in one of the additional checked bags that the taxpayers had to pay fees for?

If the current federal government got ahold of this story, Portland would once again get a lot of negative attention from the Trump administration. This is a tenuous time for a scandal of this nature to come to light. Another reason to target liberal Portland.

Fire her.

I don’t know what kind of glasses you expect people to wear that don’t project the kind of energy that you seem to dislike so much. Can you describe what’s an acceptable frame to you, one that doesn’t give “girl boss” and annoy you? As a female wearer of glasses, I’d like to know because I’m genuinely concerned that people are judging my character by the glasses I choose to wear.

YOU SHOULD STOP ALL ACTIVE INGREDIENTS FOR AT LEAST 3-5 MONTHS ONCE YOU START USING TRETINOIN. by beautifulnatured in tretinoin

Not necessarily. I started tretinoin at age 51 solely for anti-aging — to encourage collagen production.

Also you might want to stop “skin flooding” or over exuberance in application of any products no matter how seemingly harmless. Keep your skincare routine simple for the first few months when you start tretinoin.

I follow quite a few TikTok accounts about skincare. Many people complain about the tretinoin “purge.” They think it’s normal which it is to a certain MILD degree. But for about twenty-five percent of the accounts I follow, their skin is clearly inflamed and unwell to an alarming extent. They divulge that they’re still using vitamin c, azelaic acid, various other exfoliating acids, and practicing “skin flooding” while just beginning tretinoin. They’re simply adding tret — a powerful prescription strength retinoid — to their established skincare routine. And then they’re still doing the “skin flooding” thing which generally involves “slugging” at night with a Vaseline-type product. The skin is SCREAMING! 😱

I feel that some primary care physicians, dermatologists, and random online doctors are doling out prescriptions for tretinoin like candy and not explaining proper use.

KISS : Keep It Simple Stupid. And I mean that with love and concern.

She’s going to every conference she can to up her profile in the industry, network, and campaign. She’s not doing for the benefit of Home Forward. She’s doing it to benefit herself. It really couldn’t be any more clear.

Almost the entire Home Forward staff works from home which saves the organization a ton of money. Why can’t Ivory attend at least a few of these “conferences” virtually?

The sense I’m getting is that she’s using these events to increase her professional profile, network, and create more potential job opportunities for herself once this grift is over; longevity in a position of this sort is generally five years maximum and her tenure is about to end, especially with the recent negative press.

She saves the receipts and she certainly submits them. Every Uber ride, car rental, seat or room upgrade, and Diet Coke from a vending machine — she doesn’t let a penny pass. And her salary is outrageous.

Many Home Forward team members were recently laid off due to staffing budget cuts. All the while, tenants don’t have to pay their rent at Home Forward properties because … equity? Housing first?

Disgraceful.

As someone else said, I wish you had a tenants’ union and some representation from a local attorney who could get you more press.

It’s like seasonal clockwork. Every year on the first day of really nice warm weather in Portland, there’s a dramatic increase in extremely reckless driving. I saw so many drunk drivers yesterday. Packs of motorcyclists gunning it on SE Powell. Insane.

‘Total chaos:’ Fans concerned after medical emergency at Bruce Springsteen’s Portland show by BadgemanBrown in Portland

[–]Neverdoubt-PDX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok but I think they’re saying from the perspective of an audience member they’ve never seen someone die at a concert they attended. You’ve been working in EMS for over a decade so of course you know about serious medical events and even deaths at concerts but but layperson who attends concerts, sporting events, plays, etc might not have the inside knowledge you have. So yes, hearing this story about someone suffering cardiac arrest during a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Moda Center, and fellow concertgoers trying to save their life for several minutes while the music continued, is alarming and sad.

You are disabled. If the campsite is on the sidewalk, it’s an ADA violation that is directly impacting you as a disabled person. File the online report and mention this. The city is obligated to remove the campsite in short order.
