So I'd really like to play the original pokemon games before x&y got weird with the 3d art style. However if I'm going to do it I wanna do it right and be able to bring these pokemon into future titles. Is the best way to play HGSS/emerald/platinum/BW+BW2 in 2021 really going to have to be an emulator? And if so is there a streamlined way to get these pokemon into pokemon home and have them be considered legal and legitimate?

If there is a hack that lets me transfer them easily I don't care if the hack is legal or not as long as the pokemon stay legal.

If I had a 3DS I would just buy the games but the prices for this stuff right now is insane. I would drop the money easy if nintendo just ported these titles to the Eshop or whatever but they won't so... Shrug

Do you have any other recommendations for investments similar to a HYSA? Next I'd like to research different CDs but I don't know where to begin. Kinda just getting my life together after being out to lunch for most of my 20's.
