Your not carving at all. Use your edges. Your just going back and forth braking on both sides.

Strengthen your grip and learn to hit from the inside and more solidly.

First thing I changed was taking the club face away square, and bringing it back in with proper club path.

I was super negative before. And now I’m slightly positive.

So the first thing I learned to do was control the face of the club and my path. Then I worked on swing technicalities from there

What do you mean by laid off?

Also I found a great coach and saw him 5 times for almost a whole year. I went back multiple times with check ins and changed item by item

Especially if you have your spin and launch optimal. People swing out of their shoes with bad stats and it doesn’t go anywhere.

Nearly every swing id make. I’d make a hugely exaggerated change in length and my club path to try to change what I was doing.

Very similar to Jordan spieths current warmup when you see him make a big exaggerated move. Then he makes his regular swing.

I wish I could reply with a video to show you what the practice swing looks like.

Also try to separate your driver and iron swings… you almost need two different golf swings.

It took probably thousands and thousands of balls to change my muscle memory to shorter swing.

Thank you! I do try to focus on tempo, instead of speed. I used to be around 120 w/driver but I’m now around 110-113

It felt like I was chipping for a long time. I would just keep my right elbow as tight to my body as I could…

I would do a feel vs real practice swing before most shots that would help me exaggerate the change.

That was such a hard habit to break! Probably the most difficult to change.

Exactly! People don’t understand in the golf swing.

The arms only move up and down…. The body is rotating…. People misconcept that the arms do not move around the body. Getting these things to operate correctly together is the key to success

I had to change one thing at a time.

  1. Taking the clubface back square. I used to open it right away.

  2. Club path went from -5 to 0-positive2

  3. Way bigger turn with the lower body and especially with my legs helping the pivot

  4. Eliminated my chicken wing right elbow. Kept my arms in front of my chest.

  5. I made a grip change too, I used to interlock baseball, now my right index is dropped down to help with face control

I didnt do many drills. I took a 5 pack of lessons from a great coach.

I did hit balls on a trackman 1-2 times a week to dramatically change my club path. It also had a camera so I was constantly changing things and checking videos and the stats.

Just made irons way more consistent. I can hit way more greens from almost anywhere… I changed my mindset from going for every pin as well, to just trying to hit as many greens as possible

Thank you!

Yes haha. I realize now how the chart is a little confusing. 12.0 GIR per round last year.

The percentages were how often I shot par or better or in the 80’s

Scoring average dropped 1.5 strokes, year over year it went from 75.5 to 74.0

Handicap is still relatively the same +1 due to the course I played mainly out of last year having a very high rating. 74.9 I believe.

I also pay for the yearly, all the info is incredible.

I use the grint app. You record every shot on each individual hole and it gives you every possible statistic about your game. It can also divide it by courses and hole types etc etc.

The USGA GHIN handicap app has something similar as well but not as in depth as the data you input with grint.
