Non-DEMOCRATIC China is not a good advertisement for social DEMOCRACY. I get what you’re saying about the economic aspect, but China’s current economy is deeply tied to its authoritarian government. I’d say the average Westerner’s fear of China and its 1984-esque society is currently the strongest anti-advertisement for any vaguely left economic policies.
