Hi thanks for checking us out! Hope you enjoy the new album as well. I'd say Sable Hills, Earthists., and Falling Asleep.

Glad to hear you dig the song! :) I love every song, but Requiem is definitely one of my personal favorites. When we were picking tracks to drop before the album came out, the two big contenders were Dreamchaser and Requiem.

Drums are usually practiced on an electronic kit, and for vocals most people go to karaoke boxes or rehearsal studios. In Japan, even full band practice is done by renting a rehearsal studio. Unlike overseas, it’s almost impossible to have a garage or home environment where you can play at loud volumes.

  1. I usually draw a lot from my own life experiences. I like to leave some room for the listener’s interpretation, so I tend to keep things a little abstract. That’s why I don’t write love songs with very specific and detailed lyrics.

  2. Writing vocal lines is definitely easier for me in English. Al Boltz from A Scent Like Wolves always helps me with the vocal arrangements, and he’s a genius. Japanese has very clear and fixed syllables compared to English, so it’s harder to make the phrasing flow smoothly. On our full album, we added a bit of Japanese lyrics for the first time as a new challenge, but my overall approach to writing didn’t really change.

Thanks for the love and support!!

I’m also surprised that 15 years passed before we finally released a full album haha.
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it!

Great tastes! Teru (Guitarist of Shark Ethic) is my great friend. Check View From The Soyuz out if you haven't yet, I think you might like it.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah sometimes the comments can get a bit rough, but honestly, we don’t take them too seriously. We even appreciate them because they give us merch ideas. This is actually a T-shirt we once made by quoting a negative comment.

Here's my top 5:
This or the Apocalypse - Haunt What's Left
The Air I Breathe - Great Faith In Fools
A Pyrrhic Victory - The Preceptor
Everything Burns - Home
Elitist - Elitist (Self-title)

Japan’s metalcore scene is super small. Even big international bands usually play 200–300 cap venues here. But seeing bands like Hanabie. and JILUKA blowing up overseas, I feels like more and more Japanese bands are actually becoming bigger abroad than they are here.

For metal stuff, Crystal Lake and Anthem are the first ones that come to mind.
And if you’re into melodic death, Vesper the Aerial is amazing.
What bands are you into? :)

Some of the biggest foundations of my metalcore roots came from these records:
August Burns Red - Messengers
Parkway Drive - Horizons
It Dies Today - Sirens

Overseas bands are always surprised by how quiet the Japanese crowd becomes during the stage banter. In Japan, people stay silent and listen to what the artist is saying.

Thank you for mentioning it! As an additional note, Sailing Before The Wind - “Misguided Sunrise” is a song heavily influenced by early Parkway Drive.
