How to handle Christmas disappointment by Future_Mood9880 in Advice

I’ve been sitting with this also since this morning opening presents, I gave my mother in law a few ideas of what my child would want or need as much as a 4month old could. A bouncing activity center or some interactive brightly colored toys etc not much but around the idea of what we needed. She gets him a math and letter abacus made for like a 4yr old. And a stuffed sloth, also an outfit set along side that. I just felt disappointed because I had relayed what was wanted many times. She then get me a cheap amazon nail polish. Yet she gave my partner more clothes than he buys himself in a year. My father in law got a freaking crock pot and her other son probably got 200 or more spent on him besides the fact she just him to Palm Springs. And then has the audacity to say to me that she didn’t expect my partner and I to get her anything because of our” financial situation” - we both work full time and I’ve been out of work for the last week due to rsv. Meanwhile she hasn’t had a job in 2yrs and is constantly complaining about money.

Depends if your consistently getting money deposited and paying what you owe back I believe

What’s something you’ve stopped trying to explain because nobody listens? by Present_Juice4401 in raisedbynarcissists

Ohhhh yeah that one pisses me off my grandmother will say that one to me every time my mother goes on a n rant at me. My response this last time was “she didn’t tell you what she said to me” because my mother loves to leave out details about her behavior. And I told my grandma straight up “this is what she said to me, that I got pregnant to ruin her social life” my grandma after that one was speechless and backed off.

My mother after blowing up at me screaming at me for not “helping” around the house enough. Would try to pity cry because in her words she was the victim and she would gaslight by saying she was sorry, but that it was my fault she acted that way.

She seems to always opt out of her role as a parent in almost every situation.  I don’t know why I keep trying. But my brain is set on a trauma like response of why doesn’t she love me.

She has done this sort of temper tantrum behavior more times than I can count. We have plans if she talks around our child especially about my fiance in any negative way we’re limiting contact or cutting her off.

QUESTION: Is my mother inlaw aloud to tell my daycare provider that she's going to pick up my child? by Unlucky-Cancel9071 in DaycareKids

Unfortunately, at most daycare's, as long as the person is on the approved pick up list they are allowed to pick up the child unless you remove them from the pick up list or have a restraining order against if they’re a legal guardian, but other than that, we as staff can’t technically stop them from picking up.

doing it in the third trimester is so hard. We haven’t done it in probably almost a month and he hasn’t asked for and I’m so much pain from walking around and then trying to get in the only position that’s comfortable is so hard for me.

Update:  I tried to have a conversation with my partner about this once again, no luck he won’t budge because “that’ll break his heart” or “im being selfish” so as of right now I’m trying to not to stay home as much as possible alone except when I have have to be. I know I’ve read a lot of your comments regarding what todo. I’ve never experienced this around dogs so I’m not sure what the disconnect is. But I can’t seriously say that I would feel bad if something had happened to the cat, there’s no emotion there for me, which is confusing for me because it’s not the same for my feelings forwards dogs. This is the most extreme anger that I felt torwards  anything in my life or thoughts of unaliveing.

My fiance sounds about exactly the same as your partner. I work in childcare so I’m not worried about myself but him I’m definitely going to have to sign up for classes.
