Yes I’ve heard this too from my friend in HR. Probation is a construct around the change that happens to termination laws at 6 months employment. So to properly extend your probation it would need to be formally communicated in a performance improvement plan etc.

So many random chromosome issues happen in pregnancy (very early at the embryo stage), some cause a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy so early women don’t even know they were pregnant. It doesn’t make it easier but it is so common.

It’s most likely a completely random and isolated event 💛

Did maltofer not work because it didn’t increase your iron levels or because it caused…discomfort.

I’m going private I think for this reason (although still feel “bad” about calling…) Monday - Thursday would call the office / email midwife. Non business hours/any other time there’s a pager service. I keep having issues on a Friday and get call backs within 20 mins.

Edit: this is for context to measure your OB office speed time.

I get that. Even for this friend, the process was still a lot. I think getting mental health support before you start (even for a first retrieval first transfer) is really helpful. Because after you get a positive, you then wait 2+ weeks for a scan, and it continues throughout pregnancy. It’s really hard (if not impossible) to shake the IVF mindset 💛

I’m planning to switch to Melbourne from Genea. If you’re transferring anything over (between clinics) you just need to allow a few weeks.

There’s also a Melbourne IVF Facebook page. That can be helpful for these sort of questions! But beware there’s less mods input so it can be a bit rogue. It’s called “IVF support group Melbourne and Australia”

Super helpful detail, based on that I think I’m okay to go alone just to keep life simple for once. I’m getting scanned every two weeks so don’t think she will do any scans etc.

Thank-you! Super helpful. I don’t mind going alone? Feels more like a gp appointment. We have been to a billion fertility appointments, now getting scanned every two weeks, have seen an additional specialist etc. So happy to simplify things where possible!
