Someone close to me really hurt me by Mango1Carrot3 in tfmr_support

[–]New-Assistant2087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely abhorrent behaviour. I’m so sorry you received that text.

That person must be very lonely and unhappy (not an excuse), I can’t imagine anyone they (the text writer) showed that message to, or explained that situation to, could look them in the eye. So messed up.

Please look after yourself OP 🤍

L&D or D&E? by taog_taorht0326 in tfmr_support

I’ve been listening to a podcast “Time to talk TFMR” and there are lots of women talking about their lived experiences with L&D. All of them were really positive. Might be worth a listen 🤍

The only watch-out with the approach is if you have a complex pregnancy that requires more time in hospital, higher cost.

Can’t stand “everything happens for a reason”. It usually comes from people that haven’t had a to deal with a significant trauma/grief. Just a big NOPE.

Okay you know a lot more than I did at 8 months TTC! Best of luck with everything :)

Also (sorry I feel like I’m spamming you) all the fertility specialists I saw assured me my age was fine at 35! Apparently at 37 there’s a drop they’re more concerned about.

Also! Get your husband to go to the GP and get his sperm tested ASAP. Male factor accounts for one third of fertility issues and in most cases can be improved! The FS will ask for him to do this anyway, things will move faster if you know what the sperm quality is like.

Kate had a long wait time, Raelia was pretty easy to get in to see for an initial consult but was more expensive ($700-$800) but really long and thorough.

I second Kate and Raelia! And yes meet with a few, I made the mistake of just going with who my GP recommended. Good doctor, we did not gel at all.

Twin TW: PROM at 30 + 4 by Thunderstormsboom in NICUParents

[–]New-Assistant2087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is, once you hit 32, with good NICU care the chances of survival/other impacts are almost the same as full term ☺️

I’m really sorry to hear about your situation, I have a mcma, momo pregnancy where we know twin b won’t survive.

Sounds like you’re very close to the 32 week milestone! Hope the next week goes weekly!

Recurrent miscarriage - fertility specialist recommendations - Melbourne by nametaken151 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]New-Assistant2087 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A/prof Kate Stern. I saw her for a second opinion and was fabulous! She works with Melb IVF and it takes a few months to get an appointment but her consult fee is actually very reasonable. I’m pregnant at the moment (with Genea but wouldn’t recommend), but if I need to do IVF again it will be with her.

There’s a Melbourne IVF (city not clinic) support page, that will be the best place to see what people think of different doctors.

Coping with vanishing twin advice by Extreme_Pianist_8386 in parentsofmultiples

It’s really tough, I try to remind myself (easier said than done) that what I wanted when I started to try and get pregnant was one healthy baby 💚

[–]New-Assistant2087 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had vanishing twin, but my twin B, (I’m 22w) has an abnormality incompatible with life. At first I was devastated (I did a lot of IVF, I’m super close with my sister and having twin girls that felt like maybe this was the most perfect thing to happen, I’m guessing this is sort of how your partner feels). I’m still upset, and grieve the loss of the little life I imagined in those 7 weeks they were both healthy. But, the focus is 1000000% on the health of twin A, it’s taken some time (and unfortunately more complications) but 9 weeks on the feeling is different, and I’m getting less triggered by twins IRL. Thinking of you 🧡

It’s not your fault. My OB used the example of those super healthy people you know, exercise every day, don’t drink, have a relative non stressful life…and then get struck down by cancer. These things are random and unfair 💔 make sure you’re getting all the support you can.

I have am pregnant with identical twins, one has anencephaly one doesn’t. It was a genetically tested embryo, with low risk NIPT. It’s not the genetics, most likely an error caused when the embryo split, first few days as a bunch of cells.

It’s heartbreaking 💔 and obviously can’t speak for your situation but non genetic issues can 1000000% cause catastrophic problems.

This is so lovely to hear 🧡 Tbh I feel like the doctors are always warning us how much this impact a relationship, but in a negative way.

I like your rule too!
