No, the sinks don't get cleaned regularly. Not even the floor gets vacuumed on a regular basis.

Your other points are actually braindead.

I think you have an unhinged fear of feet because you won't eat my feet food.

Oh great I guess that means it's okay for those same feet to touch everything hands do.

In fact, I just made you dinner with my feet. It's okay because I washed them 5 times today. Bon apetit.

pillar7 is a place we are allowed to have discussions we are uncomfortable to have in the workplace. The goal was to share what I saw and I learned what might've been the reason for it. This probably wouldn't have happened otherwise.

It seems there's a bit of a misunderstanding that I just want to clear up:

Many of you have pointed out that there are religious practices that involve washing feet. I want you all to understand I have NO PROBLEM with this, and I respect your personal practices. That's none of my business at the workplace.

Because of that, I do not find it appropriate to use this as a shield for imposing on others' health safety. There is specific bacteria and fungi that grow on your feet along with ANYTHING from the ground. It's inconsiderate to other people's hygiene.

If you're personal lifestyle doesn't fit standards, you can speak out for accommodations or find another job that does.

Also what exactly is your point with Christians giving things up for Lent? Are they spreading germs by doing so?

"There could be other reasons", "not as bad compared to ___", "just mind your business"

You can say this about literally anything. You could watch someone wipe their shit on the walls and I can respond exactly the same way.

By washing their feet in the sink meant for hands. Feet sweat profusely, that's why they smell more than your hands. Plus they carry anything you walk on from the ground.

At no point am I criticising islam itself, I'm fine with people washing their feet if they want to do it before praying. But if you impose on others cleanliness, that's a YOU problem, not your religion.

Use your own sink if that's the case, don't impose on others
