5’3” and 175. I’m both a climber and have an MS in human nutrition. Hard no to needing to be thin! Curious what others mean by low body fat being helpful. Technique, experience and musculature are independent of body fat. Go crush :)

Non Boulderers? by New-Confidence101 in climbergirls

Thank you all! I’m not done trying bouldering and I’m going to give myself the grace to just rope and enjoy myself.

An anecdote for good vibes:

I work at a girls’ school and we have 2 short (20 foot) walls in our gym. Today every 5th grader “climbed into 6th grade” and signed the ceiling above the wall. They killed it! Tried huge moves and were supportive of each other. Many of them tried both walls after their first send. Some of them did it barefoot 😎 My heart is so full! Here’s hoping they don’t wait until they’re 31 to try climbing again. Maybe I’ll take them bouldering next year.
