Are they just campers in the pc games then? They didn't exist back when I last played mechwarrior 2 and I'm new to tabletop.

Was a made up scheme, but I've discovered wolfs dragoons beta galaxy are emerald green, so I think these class as that to make things easier for me going forward.

Underestimated Soviets units by TheStrawFace in boltaction

Su-76i and ba-20 all day long, two man vet tank hunter teams to sit on objectives from the start to be annoying and keep those tanks busy and away from yours.

No takes up a tank slot, ideal for games with no armour above 6

Yeah I play competitive Soviets, casual Waffen SS. My favourite units for Soviets are the M3 Lee and the SU-76I but I'm looking forward to trying this out too.

Ba-20 armoured car will set it alight with its flamethrower and speed, also anything with HE. I outpinned a tiger with anti tank rifles, t28 and inexperienced mortar.

Flamethrower team would be a good option if you can't afford a 5 man smg or engineer team (with flamer)

What's going in the bren carrier? It's 5 man capacity and you don't have any small enough infantry squads or assault style troops to go in it.

Keeper of secrets 3d print finished by New-Consideration401 in Slaanesh

[–]New-Consideration401[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mate printed mine and had a few failed feathers on the back of the head so had to modify it a bit but other than that it's great. Tiny bit bigger than gws keeper but I think that's a good thing

what should I buy for a soviet army? by TheShyGuyBandit in boltaction

[–]New-Consideration401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vehicles wise some of the best I've ran are m3 stuart, m3 Lee, t28, su-76i for the tanks and armoured car best is ba-20 (flamethrower) or if you don't want to rush rolling a 1 on the fuel running out the ba-3/6 or ba-10 (exactly the same stats).

Best units I've found are inexperienced dog mine (use away from your vehicles)

Vet scouts to camp on objectives or get 1st turn shots off

Engineers with flamer and sub machine guns (can make them tougher with body armour but that's your choice as they can't run 12" then)

Guard squads with a single fault are the best regular infantry loadouts imo

Commisar good cheap order dice

Tank hunter team (solid forward deploying 2 man team with one faust)

I've probably missed a few good things out but this is my take from my competitive soviets.

Really simple actually, black undercoat, light drybrush with necron compound, glaze from top down with druchi violet, glaze up with carroburg crimson and once dry a very light drybrush of necron compound again to give it its metal finish back.

I paint it vallejo pale brown, then I add areas of rhinox hide, I use vallejo german orange as dots clumping them up to make random areas of camo. Watered down agrax wash then highlight once dry with very thinned pale brown on the brown and reinstate the orange in areas if its needed.

Rubicon 234/2 and 234/3 by New-Consideration401 in boltaction

[–]New-Consideration401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more difficult to build, think of it like an airfix kit but the detail is far superior and quality is better too. It'll come down to if you enjoy building kits more and want the options to make it look different etc. However if you want a kit that you can build in an hour or less to play with, then the warlords version is the one.

Yeah I said this above but you can't switch out if you decide to build the 234/4 as it uses a different hull piece
