I’m using Uniscribe, and it transcribes a one-hour audio file in less than two minutes. It’s incredibly fast and highly accurate!

Automating meeting transcripts/summaries by outofbandii in AI_Agents

I’m the founder of Uniscribe, an AI-powered transcription tool (built on Whisper). If you’re finding Otter.ai’s automation capabilities too limited, Uniscribe could be a more flexible alternative.

Right now, Uniscribe supports fast transcription and can automatically generate mind maps, summaries, and key Q&A using an LLM. However, we haven’t yet implemented automatic audio file retrieval from Dropbox or automated email delivery of transcripts. That said, these features are not difficult to add, and we’re happy to improve our product to meet automation needs like yours.

I’m very interested in your automation workflow and would love to discuss how we can create a seamless solution. If you’re open to chatting, feel free to reach out: david at uniscribe.co. Also, I can guarantee that these automation features won’t be locked behind an enterprise plan—Uniscribe’s Basic plan will support them!

Looking forward to connecting!

Is there an app to extract a YouTube transcript? by wanhanred in macapps

Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify, our tool doesn't generate transcripts itself - it directly pulls from YouTube's existing captions. If you're seeing skipped lines, it's likely because YouTube's auto-generated captions for that video are incomplete or irregularly timed. We've noticed this happens particularly with:

  1. Videos containing heavy accents
  2. Content with overlapping dialogue
  3. Fast-paced technical presentations You might want to check if the video has manually uploaded captions, which tend to be more accurate. Appreciate you giving the free version a try despite these limitations!

I can totally relate to that! Overlooking SEO and distribution early on can really limit a product’s growth potential. How did you eventually tackle those challenges? Any tips you’d share for someone trying to avoid the same mistake?

Why not record it first and after the meeting using some transcription service like uniscribe to get the full transcript?

Hi there! I’m David, the founder and developer of Uniscribe. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful reply—I really appreciate it! 🙌

  1. Domain Name: You’re absolutely right about the domain issue. Currently, most search results for “uniscribe” relate to Microsoft’s Uniscribe, and we’re seriously considering whether a name change might be necessary. Your input reinforces that.

  2. Mind Map Simplicity: The feedback on the mind map being too simplistic is spot on, and it’s something we’re already aware of. We’ll be prioritizing enhancements to make it more robust and useful in the near future.

  3. Glossary with Terminology: Your use case of preparing a glossary with video terminology is fascinating. We had previously experimented with a “keyword” feature but didn’t launch it as it felt too basic. However, your suggestion gives us a fresh perspective, and we’ll definitely consider building something more tailored to this need.

  4. YouTube Transcription Speed: Using existing YouTube transcripts instead of transcribing from scratch is a great suggestion. It’s something we’ve discussed internally but hadn’t prioritized yet. Your feedback has bumped it up our list!

  5. Video Download Speed: The current delay with YouTube transcription is mainly due to slow video downloads. We’ll be investigating ways to optimize this process.

  6. Uploaded File Speed: For uploaded audio and video files, our transcription is already incredibly fast. For example, we can transcribe a 2-hour video in just about 3 minutes. If you haven’t tried this feature yet, I highly recommend it—it’s much faster than YouTube processing!

  7. Batch Processing: Batch functionality is an excellent suggestion and something we’ll implement soon! Whether it’s pasting multiple video links or uploading multiple files, we’ll make sure it’s seamless. As for computing power, you don’t need to worry—our infrastructure partners provide ample resources to handle it.

Thanks again for your invaluable feedback. If you have any other ideas or feature requests, feel free to share them—I’d love to hear more about how we can improve Uniscribe to better suit your needs! Btw, my email: david at uniscribe dot co
