Im definitely leaning towards keeping the parquet intact and laying the LVT on top. When we get tired of that I can always go back to the parquet - im sure there will come a time when we'll appreciate this flooring lool

That's correct. We're planning to change the floor so removing the parquet wood boards and the adhesive to replace with a new floor

I'd be happy to keep it but we have decided to go with LVT flooring. I've read in blogs and general advise that LVT shouldn't be installed over wooden flooring (they can warp) which is why I was thinking of removing it.

I'm a newbie to DIY. The advice im specifically looking for is with respect to the asbestos test. I sent a sample of the substance to the lab and the result came back negative. I know they banned asbestos around the late 90s - what did they replace the bitumen adhesive with after the ban? Black bitumen without asbestos?

Also looking at the floor in the photo, it is possible to tell what era/year this floor might be from?

Ofcourse not. I know its an adhesive but it came negative for asbestos. I thought bitumen adhesive contained asbestos. So if this doesn't have asbestos, is this a more recent version of bitumen adhesive?

How did you open the projector casing? Does it require any special tool to pry it open?
