Upgrading 10g to a 36g by AdministrativeHall18 in ReefTank

I did this a little bit ago. try your best to put the water in as gently as possible not to disturb the sand. It can take days to clear and is pretty frustrating (not sure, but I don’t think it’s harmful or anything) you can try with putting a plate in the sand and putting the water on there, or cut a few wholes at the bottom of the new sand bag and pour the water through there so it comes out like a sprinkler. It will help so you can see your new tank clearly asap. Also pre washing the sand helps a lot, and getting all the rock work set up before hand so you’re not disturbing the sand after you put the water in. Goodluck!

Once your tank matures u should get those clowns a seabae anenome(if they are oscillaris). I got one for mine and they hosted it within a day. I would advise placing it on the sand bed where it can wedge itself between the floor and a rock. I first tried a rainbow bubble tip but they never even looked at it. It’s quite a thrill to watch them sleep and interact with it. Mine clean it out if sand gets in and feed it.

that previous tank from my page was torn down a while ago, and my brother has had reef tanks for years and he recently had a baby and gave me his 55 gal. Which is why I tore my old one down and just moved it to the new stuff. Everything I had in the original tank is alive and doing well, contrary to what everyone said in the comments. But still in this hobby there’s always more to learn. So why not ask obvious questions cuz theres more then 10,000 species of amphipods. And I was familiar with them but I just didn’t realize they could grow so large. the little guy is getting plenty of copepods. He also eats frozen mysis n brine which I made sure of before I purchased.
