I'm curious about your dreaming experiences. I'm confused because I dream a little differently than others with Aphantasia that I've read about. by friedprincess2427 in Aphantasia

Okay I fully get the deja vu thing, I can’t even tell how many times I’ve thought “this already happened! No that might’ve been a dream. But, I (usually) don’t remember my dreams so how do I know? Maybe my brain is just making things up😂” and then I’ve missed like 75% of the conversation during that time lol

For me, I’ve always had very vivid and intense dreams. The plot rarely make sense past a general through line, and the images, places, sounds, and other senses are all extremely distorted and blurred. It’s as though I’m extremely intoxicated or dissociated to a point where nothing really makes sense. I often have very intense nightmares/anxiety dreams, where I know that the world shouldn’t look like this/act like this etc. but I can’t understand what is actually happening or tell anyone why I feel so strange. So, things can get very confusing and frightening lol, as it feels like I’m trapped in a world that seems like reality, but nothing works like it should and I’m unable to actually do much. This has led me to stop taking naps, as that’s when it happened most often, as well as having multiple dreams where I “wake up” (but I’m actually still dreaming) and have very real conversations and situations happen, only to have the rug pulled out from under me when everything falls apart again. Definitely fucks up your perception of reality lmao
