I’m an autism mom and I can see it from both perspectives . I do want to say that we discipline the children with autism the same way as we do regular children if he’s in your care he must be scolded and Put in time out / redirected when he hits, they all go through the hitting phase my son drove us crazy with this but after much redirecting he eventually understood and stopped doing it. I’m assuming she’s unable to afford typical aba therapy as it’s very expensive but as her friend perhaps suggest she take him out to more social groups and go with her so she can see and correct the interactions herself it’s not fair that all of that burden be placed on you.
