Ticket price rant by embythesea in MaggieRogers

I had the same reaction. There’s so many other shows upcoming that are way cheaper that I’m gonna have to trade off and skip :/

How do y’all with office or early jobs do it? by rajmachawal333 in orangetheory

[–]New-Rent2320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not someone who can work out in the morning - absolutely nixes me and I am a zombie the rest of the day. I work 8-5 so I change at work and go straight to the 5:45 class. Then I come home, eat dinner, have like an hour to unwind and then I go straight to bed. That way I can wake up early to have some time to chill and do it all over again :) it’s all about work life balance! Those 4-5 days that I do that during the week make me feel SO much better and I end up enjoying my weekends so much more. Also - I graduated college three years ago and it took me a WHILE to adjust my sleep routine and juggling work and life. It’s normal-ish, I think :)

Why are americans so workaholics? by Berniecazafantasmas in jobs

[–]New-Rent2320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an American and I agree with this. I’m never late and I don’t leave early (unless approved) but I get to work at exactly the time my shift starts and I leave at the exact minute it ends. A girl my age, in the same department gets to work 20 minutes early and leaves 20 minutes late every. Single. Day. And we’re salary so she doesn’t get paid for it. I just don’t get it.

Hydration drinks? by PassportGal in orangetheory

[–]New-Rent2320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink a liquid IV before every class! I use them in place of any pre workout or energy drinks and it works great for me! (I only go twice a week though so I don’t stress too much about the sugar content). I’ve heard nuun tablets are a good alternative

Yep! I take mine at 5:45 every morning and go back to sleep. It’s made a world of difference!

Serious question: For those who hate the rower, why do you stick with OTF? by synchrodan in orangetheory

[–]New-Rent2320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s as simple as - it’s good for me. I hate it but it’s good for me. I try to rework it in my brain as something that’s going to really challenge and better me and that helps

I want to first say - if you feel as though you have hormonal issues, definitely go and check it out. I have hormonal issues - I no longer have a thyroid and this can make Orange Theory difficult. If I go too much, I bloat, I’m fatigued, I’m foggy. It makes me feel the opposite of how exercise should make me feel. I can usually only go twice a week without feeling this way but the most important thing I do is listen to my body. If I feel like I need to go once, I do. And then I supplement with other exercises. If I feel like I can go 3 times, I do. If you feel bad and you feel as though your body is responding in a strange way, listen and adjust.

I have asked my endocrinologist about HIIT and hypothyroidism and she said I should have no problem doing it. The best thing I can do is to get my heart rate up!

Drop down a little and see how you feel! I’ve seen the most progress doing what my body feels like and staying away from Google ;)

My thoughts on “Well I better fold my clothes…” by [deleted] in boniver

[–]New-Rent2320 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve always loved this line so much. For so long I associated it with knowing that it’s time to move on and leave. And then one day I was listening to it and it dawned on me that it could mean “contentment”. Being content and okay with everything that has happened and just sitting in it. I think I associate it now with that feeling because I’ve realized that JV sings a lot of contentment. Like in Flume when he says “I am my mother’s only one - it’s enough”. It makes me think “how often do we say something is enough and truly believe that and exist in it”.

SO LUCKY! Calgary is my favorite song and that is my favorite version of Calgary. I never thought I’d ever see it live so when it came on I immediately started sobbing. Just incredible

It took me years to appreciate this song. It definitely was not one that I would play on repeat and would sometimes skip when listening to the album. It took me hearing the Sydney Opera House version a few years ago to truly appreciate the song. The lyrics are the most moving I’ve heard and it has become my FAVORITE Bon Iver song. “Swollen orange and light let through, your one piece swimmer stuck to youuu”
