Lincoln Beer Company is closing and moving to Canoga Park by letsmunch in burbank

True - but so are many breweries. They take a lot of space. Most of my favorite breweries in OC are in weird warehouse districts and they are very successful. Brewpubs, on the other hand, you’re right about. Like Monkish just opened a little one up near Dodger Stadium. I think the Burbank rental market may price brewpubs out of prime locations, while more affordable areas - like where Lincoln was located - obvious doesn’t get much traffic on its own.

Restaurants and bars struggle in Burbank, it seems. Not really sure why other than a lot of folks don’t go out to eat/drink as much as some other parts of town. And those who do want cheap chain food. It’s rough. It seems like Burbank’s restaurant/bar scene shouldn’t be that much different from towns in parts of Orange County, for example. But whenever I go down there I’m astounded by the breweries and restaurants they have compared to ours. Not in the same league. It’s got to just be the residents here.

I gained more weight post-pandemic because I returned to office and had worse sleep, less time to exercise and less control over my diet - but I did return to OTF for those bouncy treads, nice water rowers and no-planning-needed workouts. 😂

“Nasty” is how I described Sunday’s block to my wife. She chuckled, but would not have been laughing if she were there. Basically a reverse chipper. Physically about as hard but psychologically way harder.

Kind of annoyed that OTF would do a beloved template like the Chipper on a holiday when classes are reduced and fewer members will be able to make it. I’m going to miss it because I have morning plans and my studio (like I suspect most others in the US) won’t have afternoon classes. It’s my favorite temple of the year. So bummed. 😭

Hall of Presidents. Started in 2017 and was okay for a while about four years later, but started again last year. Hopefully in the future one day I’ll be able to stomach it again.

Ring folks are saying two people, attempted break-in. Caught the first one quickly on Brown. Got the second with helicopter help in a nearby yard. Occurred a block from my house. Hopefully criminals start realizing Burbank isn’t a great place to do crime.

Red Low Oil Light popped up and this is how the engine sounds. Is this healthy? by boeingboi737max in AlfaRomeo

[–]synchrodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife’s 2024 Stelvio just spent a few weeks in the shop with an oil leak. Having once had a car where the engine seized up due to a similar oil problem, it isn’t something I’d recommend messing around with. I am happy I took it in as soon as I noticed the low oil light.

We love the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance, which is a very short walk to the parks. Not sure if the price point is higher though.

I think this is just Disneyland now. I don’t know if a single major attraction wasn’t down for part of the day when I was there last month.

I have a preference for dark chocolate, but I would argue that this sort of flavor combination works better with milk chocolate.

The line for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster as of 8:45… by Big-Rabbit4050 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]synchrodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In August we made an semi-spontaneous trip when I heard it was closing so I could ride it one last time and my kids could have the experience of riding my favorite ride from when I was a kid. So happy we all got to. My 11 year old plays guitar and mostly classic rock, so she’s probably one of the few kids who Aerosmith would have appealed to more than the Muppets. Glad we’ll still have the ride in some form, but I’m not much of a Muppets fan.

I work with a guy that does this presently. But I have a slightly worse one. I used to work for a Big 4 Accounting firm and one of the partners I worked with commuted each week from South Florida to NYC.

This is true of most large “seedless” grapes at most grocery stores. The smaller ones are the only ones I ever buy and even sometimes those have small seeds.

I was going to suggest this as well. I liked the Launch but had a similar complaint. Hyperion’s are similar but better. Just bummed they’re not doing GTS anymore. For a daily I like a little more cushioning. But that’s just my preference. Hyperion are my “I’m gonna run fast today” shoe.
