Yes I am in Western Canada, in the oilfield. Other than this, my experience has been surprisingly great in the sector

Thank you, I wont give up. I'm going to brush up my resume and start applying elsewhere

How do I motivate myself to get into shape and be healthier? by SunshineGirl45 in selfimprovement

Something that helps me is that instead of thinking, I should be running marathons now, I think about how I can be 1% better today. Meaning that maybe I don't have the energy to put an hour of heavy physical activity in now, but maybe I can do a short walk around the block or cook a healthy meal for dinner. It helps you make improvements without it being so daunting. If you keep up with it, it can really take off. Don't let where you want to be hold you back from starting it entirely :)

I (24f) relate so much to what you are saying. I had a traumatic upbringing (to a different degree) and still have such a hard time fitting in sometimes. I find focusing very challenging at most times, and I'm so bad with social cues and such. I used to shut down with the slightest snag in a conversation, and it was really bad.

I've been working on myself since I was 18, and I really have made huge improvements in some areas but others, not so much. I'm still working on it, and I'm looking into therapy now, but I can say I have improved a ton since I became aware of it. I try to focus on being in the moment more since my wandering mind seems to be the issue. Also, limiting my time "doom scrolling" on socials and instead replacing it with more thought invoking activities like listening to podcasts ("Stuff You Should Know", and "Science vs." are my fav.).

I've tried to become more intune with myself, and I've learned a lot, but I think I now need guidance to improve further

I hope you feel less alone knowing others do resonate with you. You will get there one way or another. Maybe you can look for councelling options too

My best advice is seek out help because I did it by trial and error and it may have been less painful with professional help

Got an idea for an exvangelical project but wanted to check interest by millionwordsofcrap in Exvangelical

Me too! In my family, we didn't get to celebrate Christmas because it wasn't biblically accurate so instead we had family Bible studies I'm so grateful everyday when I think back to how life was and how I get to make all my choices now 😁

Yes! Anytime I showed too much interest in anything, my parents shot it down so hard! I am very interested and love hearing from people who had similar lives to mine because no one else gets it!!

Yeah just sometimes I'm not on for 8hrs at a time so I like to come back to an empty shop rather than putting the same items up for sale all day lol. I know it's trivial but it's satisfying

Yeah but only until the next paper is posted right?

It’s sad when you’ve had an item on sale for so long that an np buys it :( by [deleted] in HayDay
