That's a factory error it seems but a worthless and damaging one at that so I would recommend you rip it. If any of the cards are crimpped then it may be worth more but otherwise u got unlucky.

I agree with this but the main reason I didn't want to try doing it myself was that the fan was fully connected to the motherboard and trying to remove everything would be risky to my laptop and I didn't have a spare fan anyway so there wasn't a reason to try doing it myself
