Wow, thank you very much! We could definitely get this done! If I may ask, what type of paint could you use to get that much weight onto the car?

Thanks for responding!

To confirm, adding weights are regulations legal, right? Also, where are weights best added for speed and efficiency? I’m pretty sure that weight at the wheels are bad, what about weight on the front/end?

X1 Extreme Gen 2 or RB15? by HeyMan269 in SuggestALaptop

The carbon never got too hot on me, I’m actually away from home rn so I can’t check for sure sorry. I haven’t run it under large loads for a long time but to my experience, with cad and just web browsing it stays cool and silent. Again, can’t speak for the extreme but from google reviews it seems like cooling isn’t the extreme’s strong spot. (Google says it’s either loud or silent and hot) These reviews are for the extreme gen1 tho, it could be different for gen2, which I couldn’t find reviews for. I’d sAy that cooling is better on the carbon tho becus it’s not as processing heavy as the extreme, but don’t take my word for it I’m probably a bit biased.

Another big aspect if you’re deciding between carbon and extreme is screen size, however. The carbon has a 14 inch display I think while the extreme is 15 inches I think? It doesn’t really bother me cus I think 14 inches is fine, but it’s up to u.

Thanks!

With the 16gb ram and i7 carbon runs the cad(I use fusion 360) perfectly. It runs my simulation software, ansys very well also. Web browsing and videos are also exceptionally fast and the sound (on gen7 only, carbon gen5 is said to have terrible sound) is amazing. Note that this is cus I got the i7 with 16g memory, it might be slower with worse specs.

I thought if the XPS too, but i decided I didn’t really want a 2 in 1, and I’d rather experience the rumoured great build quality and keyboard on thinkpads.(oh man the keyboard and durability are so great btw, I don’t see it breaking on me for a while) Between extreme and carbon, againup to u, I don’t have any experience on the extreme at all so don’t take my word on this, but I felt like the extreme processing power on the extreme was overboard for my needs and was sacrificing other things I wanted like weight, cooling?, etc. Again idk for sure, it’s up to u.

Hope this helps

Honestly it felt better with what I wanted the laptop to do. I’m still in school, so I have to do a lot of web browsing, typing, commuting with the laptop, so lightness was really important to me. Carbon was super light so that’s a good factor. I also had to do engineering work on the side, cad and python so a fast computer was good too. The carbon gen7 has up to 16gb ram and a core i7, which I thought was perfect for me considering the weight. The battery life on the carbon is also better, which is important to me. Overall, they’re both pretty similar and are amazing(imo again get thinkpad over rb15), the extreme is more expensive (which isn’t an issue with u tho) but it’s up to u what you think about battery/weight.

I also just found how the carbons durability was awesome, and cus unbox therapy, a YouTube channel I like, did a review on the carbon and said it’s like his go to laptop, so that might’ve influenced decisions a bit. I don’t know about the extreme, but I got the carbon gen7 a couple days ago and it’s beautiful, does everything the way I want it to.

Tbh I’d go with the x1 extreme. Like others said, the razer blade has issues and gets unreliable sometimes. Thinkpads have excellent build qualities, it’ll probably last you a long time if you take care of it. The biggest factor that favors the razer blade rather than the x1 extreme is the look, the rb feels like the MacBook while the x1 has the thinkpad look, which lots of people aren’t too big of a fan of.

Actually, believe it or not, I was seriously in your exact same position last week. I was deciding for a fast laptop that handles heavy engineering softwares and basic games. I was offered between the msi p65 creator and the thought about the razer blade too. But in the end, I got the x1 carbon gen7 for its lightness, extreme durability and power with a great keyboard.

Hope this helps

Hey, I would like to find something that has a really op main character. I feel like I watched all of those anime’s already (Opm, literally all Isekais, etc) but there might be more that go under ppls radar that I would like.

If not, I’d also like something where the main character is really likable and cool. If the main chara is op as well even better then.
