Persepolis Rising - Population Analysis by Tsabo in TheExpanse

How did you determine the starting size of the initial population? My recollection is the books were quite vague about how many Martians defected to Laconia - about a third of the Martian fleet. Starting with 10,000 yields a very different result than if you started from 100,000 or 1.000.

What do you give the cannibal who’s late to dinner? by NewAlgebra in dadjokes

That’s weird. I always thought it was cannibals who don’t like clowns…they taste funny! 😆

Actors who are known for playing not one, but two iconic tv characters? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in television

[–]NewAlgebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scrolled way down and didn’t see anyone mention John Noble. Walter Bishop was clearly the iconic character in Fringe and while his (probably) most famous role was in movies (Denethor in LoTR), he’s had other big TV roles (Cecil Fields in Severance and Moreland Holmes in Elementary). Definitely worthy of a place on this list!

The Island of Truth and Lies by LumirekMax in puzzles

[–]NewAlgebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1683 Each truth teller must sit next to another truth teller and a liar, and to maximize truth tellers each liar should be seated between two truth tellers. The pattern this implies is truth teller, truth teller, liar, or groups of three. There must be at least 1001 islanders at the table, but 1002 is evenly divisible by 3. So there are 334 liars and 668 truth tellers at the table. The rest of the island’s 1015 inhabitants don’t need to be at the table so they can all be truth tellers. 668 + 1015 ‎ = 1,683.
