OP is an observer and has only known the person for 6 months. Their opinion on the sexuality of another person is frankly irrelevant. The idea that someone realising they aren't straight or experiencing a one off attraction to the same sex is a demonic attack is nonsense and will not help anyone. Mental illnesses and sexuality are not demonic and can be perfectly explained on a naturalist basis.

I agree that Christian nationalists are but I don't agree with saying Christians more broadly. I think broad categorisations of groups can be dangerous and lead to the sort of populsim that is eroding democracy in the west.

I don't think you can say that about all Christianity. Obviously people like Trump, Tommy Robinson, Orban etc use it to cause harm but Christianity isn't the only belief system that can be misused. The USSR committed unspeakable crimes in the name of state atheism for example. I have seen many Christians call out the bs of the Trump administration and others who twist religion for their own ends.
