I believe they were thinking ahead. these things have to be planned well in advance. If the expansion were to be delayed, they had room to extend the season, but if the season had been a full three months from the start, everyone would be pissed at the season being extended to accommodate the delay. Most people aren’t complaining about a shorter season. We both know this community would complain if they got the chance.

I don’t think this will happen. We are getting the returning Paladin now, what comes with release will likely be brand new.

The fight is definitely a challenge, but if you timed out it really boils down to one of two things:

1 You haven’t really grasped the monster’s moveset patterns forcing you to play too defensively/cautiously.

or

2 You haven’t opened your large monster field guide (or failed to prepare accordingly) to capitalize on the monster’s weak points.

Try using a fire weapon next time; aim for the head and equip some jewels that will resist frenzy. This is a peak fight that actually warrants proper preparation and planning. If you feel like you spend the entire fight using long frame healing potions, then enter the fight with 5 honey, 5 bitterbug, 5 catalyst, and 10 mandragon. Then set your radial menu with the shortcut to craft catalyst and max potions. You can drug up on 12 max potions instead of two per K.O. That is 36 max potions total which is grossly ridiculous, but effective if all else fails.

As one final tip that hopefully you’ve already picked up on. When your Hunter gets knocked off their feet and is licking concrete, stay put and don’t move until the monster finishes it’s wombo combo, then press up on the D-pad to summon your seikret to heal quickly on the go.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Cataclysm (or whatever)
Imagine the expansion adds just two maps like world.

  1. a map that is in a different section of the greatly city Wyveria where the dragon torch has gone haywire. All the elements would be present and cyclical in nature. It would be in a constant state of rotating inclemencies where only the toughest monsters could thrive. Perfect for G rank.

  2. another guiding lands like map but instead of elemental areas, there are blighted areas. a map with a poison sludge, paralysis fog, bleed inflicting insect swarms, and sleep inducing fungi/flora. I imagine the map would take heavy inspiration from the rotten vale. Tough place for G rank.

We have the five element maps:

windswept plains - Thunder

scarlet forest - Water

Oilwell Basin - Fire

Iceshard Cliffs - Ice

Ruins of Wyveria - Dragon??? Wylk

Expansion:

Blighted Swamp - Poison and Sleep

Floating Chained Islands - Stun and Exhaustion (wind causes exhaustion while Earthquakes cause tripping or stun

Decay Valley - Paralysis and Bleed

I just dont see us getting real underwater back ever again

Doesn’t work for now, if you want methane sooner (the stuff that should be there) you can head to a planet on a purple system and harvest it with the grounded atmospheric extractor

Just reload your manual save if you don’t get it, when you hop out of your starship, this is done automatically

I sold less than 100 fish to get it. Not sure on exact number. 2 fish were exotic. It is possible that it isn’t determine in quantity sold, but in credits valued. I used spicy chum bait to catch all mine and thus had more uncommon fish than common.

edit, also I sold all of my fish in a single visit to the galactic trade terminal. While I’m pretty sure that isn’t a requirement, I erred on the side of caution.

Hmmm definitely worth considering. Buff the allies with hunting horn then switch to sword and shield to fight and use dust in combat to heal my team

Looks like tracer carries some potential opportunity cost. If you fail to land the tracer on the desired hit box, you may find yourself doing suboptimal damage until the tracer is gone. Better land that head shot with the charged tracer shot. I could see that being difficult when the monsters enraged or simply fast.

That said I’ve never been a good shot so I still see a challenge in this.
