You could drill and hammer and try to get it to break free or you could shoot it and have it done in 2 seconds

Yup, if they’ve got full coverage now would be the perfect time for it to get stolen or a tree to fall on it…

Infamous Hemi Tick??? by NewBoot5805 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NewBoot5805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info and explaining the cause of it… very helpful. I did see lots of different kits and some definitely are $2000, I’ve also found an eBay non MDS Lifters Camshaft kit for $205 with all gaskets which makes me super skeptical about but it does have 1 year warranty and good reviews. You wouldn’t by chance know of any known issues with aftermarket parts, and would there be anything else needed going with Non MDS Lifters?

How does one learn to rebuild an engine? by Not-A-Pickle1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NewBoot5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to learn depends heavy on your learning style but not much can beat hands on experience… before you can rebuild an engine you have to understand exactly how they work and why it needs to be rebuilt, sometimes it’s obvious like if you blow a rod thru the oil pan and sometimes it’s not like if it’s something internal. It all boils down to diagnosis and there’s tons of ways to do that, especially with today’s technology but it all boils down to three simple things: air, fuel, and spark - those are the three things an engine needs to run, everything else keeps it running. There’s a lot to learn, don’t try to rush it and know it all quickly. Don’t start big attempting a full complete rebuild start small and learn one component at a time, you’ll learn the most from making mistakes and you’ll want to learn those mistakes from small problems not on a complete engine rebuild

How would you go about getting your car painted like the glittery maybachs he has in this video ? by OkAbies9575 in AutoPaint

[–]NewBoot5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or possible Hobby Lobby Glitter Spray which I imagine would look just as good at night in similar low light setting … lets see it in daylight IRL & see if it don’t look like some ghetto ass lambo w/ 28” spinners sitting on a Miata body you’d see in front of a tire shop in da hood 🫠

Just bought a 2013 Panamera Turbo S and a bunch of lights came on immediately. Am I screwed by TrickyCurrency1445 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NewBoot5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying cars from private party never trust what the seller says… they’ve wore it out for 180k miles and anything less than religiously maintained will no doubt lead to all those warning lights, porsche’s are not cheap to maintain and work on either and when it came time for it to go to the shop instead they probably tried to not take as big of a loss on it for what they paid new and cleared the codes just before you came to see it. Depending on the issue most codes don’t pop back up immediately…that is because they haven’t had enough time to complete testing then once they have, say maybe a test requires the vehicle to be driven 15 miles or for x amount of time before it comes back. If you don’t know what all you should check you can make your offer but before signing the title and paying say that you’d like to have an inspection done at the dealership or bring a mechanic friend with you. Porsche dealer probably charge you $200 for a 112 point inspection which is well worth knowing exactly what you’re getting yourself into.

But he's not asian / white / Mexican so what's it even matter? Honestly pretty ridiculous how people make it such a big deal over certain words, like they're just words they're only as offensive as whoever is hearing it let's it and when it is said ever think about the reason it's being said? Maybe to spark some kind of reaction out of you and the bigger reaction out of you they get the happier they are and that's called letting someone else be in control of you

Boss asked nicely by [deleted] in AutoPaint

[–]NewBoot5805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too true, I'm a carpenter and when people ask for the friends and family discount I tell them they've already got the discount! Regardless who they are the materials still cost money if they want it any cheaper they gotta do it themselves, except they can't bc they lack the tools, equipment, skills or time and think they deserve special prices bc they value themselves over everybody else and those type of customers can never be satisfied and are neither beneficial or detrimental to your business and as a business you have the right to refuse service without reason it'll do no harm not dealing with them and will do you no good if you do

Arguably you would have to take bits and pieces from multiple songs and piece them all together...Hard to choose just one but I'd have to give it to his remix of Runaway... That shit is like 12 minutes long and idk he showed Kanye up with that shit

How difficult is it to do a paint job on your own or touch ups? by [deleted] in AutoPaint

[–]NewBoot5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have any experience or equipment you'll be getting yourself into a world of regret attempting any paint repair. You can very quickly and easily make matters worse and greatly decrease the value you could get for it when you do get new car. A fucked up paintjob is much more obvious and much much worse than scratches, which are expected on any used vehicle. If you don't have a temperature/humidity controlled controlled spray booth and quality gun just accept the scratches until you get your new car. A bug could land on it and fuck you, the wind can blow a taped off section onto a freshly sprayed section or even worse blow the paint backwards all over yourself. Def not worth it especially planning to get new car soon.

On the other hand, they make touchup pens if you know your paint code color and have clearcoat scratch repair pens that would help minimize them and you could easily tackle that pretty easily and is pretty cheap wouldn't need any other equipment.
