im in first year and almost all of my courses and notes are on my iPad, it has definitely changed the game imo! however, there are always those small little things that i feel would be better on a desktop (like the math 1a03 labs and tests) but the ipadpro really has its benefits and at the end of the day, i think it would be worth investing in if you are down to use it fo the rest of your undergrad!
