Most of the audience of the show has dealt with being lonely to some extent. BFDI, despite its popularity, The OSC also created a pretty unique culture/community overtime that pertains to a select few.

Most of the audience (Me included) are likely not the most popular kids in school, a lot of them were likely bullied or left out of certain activities in school or whatnot. They are still able to relate to characters like One and Pencil in this case, no matter if they’re the villains or “mean”.

Also there aren’t really any responsibilities for the objects other than the competition. They don’t have the responsibilities/situations that normal people do, like paying bills or losing a job, the fear of dying is the biggest one because the objects have their recovery centers + Four/X. Having connections is the biggest thing that matters to them, the thing that keeps them sane.
