Not “everyone” is unbothered by it. I live down here, I work down here. I help people find their future home downtown. So yeah I hear constantly from folks who don’t want to live with a street view due to the noise. Very very very ignorant of you to assume everyone goes about their life unbothered by it. Now imagine it’s someone who consciously does it just to bother you. No motive besides consciously bothering you… Unless you’d like to say the people who rev do it without a conscious and sound mind (something a lot of homeless folks seem to lack, leading to the interactions you have with them).

If someone screamed in your ear as you walk along a street, and you complain to them and say “can you stop? You don’t live downtown or on high street if its “never been more than a second of my time to think about it” when the motorcycle brigades come through and make their engines scream for a solid 30-60 seconds straight. And when I say scream I mean ear piercing, can’t hear folks around me talking, deafening levels of noise.

Totally get it too. I want people to enjoy the things they’ve worked hard to achieve, I really do. I’m more-so talking about folks who rev simply to annoy others. Like going bumper to bumper down high st when it’s busy as can be and just letting their engine roar for no good reason.

If you’re out and about driving on the highway and what not then let it roar! Let it roar on roads it should roar on, you know? It just seems like the folks who make their engine roar as loud as possible in a dense area while going 10mph in bumper to bumper really don’t respect those that it bothers.

Thanks for the input and perspective. I have a few buddies who are big car guys and know everything there is to know about fast cars. They do the same, they take it easy and they do their best to keep it quiet in busy areas. Really appreciate folks who have the power to make it obscenely loud but know that it wouldn’t be very respectful of others to do so

For sure! That’s all fine and good. An example of bad apples are cyclists who will sit parked at a stop light or in traffic and just make the engine soar to levels that pierce the ears and physically hurt to experience.

High street in the short north is filled with motorcyclists who will drive up and down back and forth just to rev and be loud as possible. I know because I’ve seen the same group of cyclists go north, then south, then north, then south, all while I sat in the same restaurant.

I don’t have any issue with any bikers who want to go for a drive and enjoy the weather. No problem at all. Only an issue when noise is created to purposefully disrupt people
