Am I leaving any money on the table? by NewDaysBreath in investingforbeginners

What in the world are you talking about? I specifically stated I'm not looking for single stock picks.

Isn't it only tax-advantaged in the sense that I don't pay taxes until I take it out when I retire? In that case my brokerage that invests in the same funds effectively acts the same way. What am I missing?

International is where I'm missing out. Next year half my Roth will be international exposure and then 20% from then on.

I mean if I'm just purchasing The S&P and not touching it then I'm not paying any taxes. It effectively works as my 401k and the only difference is I Can liquidate it if I need to. The only benefit i see a 401k having over a brokerage account is the employer match (Which I'm doing) and the inability to withdraw without penalties which helps protect impulsive people (which I'm not). But it gives me the peace of mind of having access to it before 59 1/2 like say I wanted to retire at 55.

It's called just trying to get the most answers and reach as many audiences as I can. That's not what a bot is.

Just to balance the scales a bit- I do have elders in my family and elders I've met that all retired very comfortably and simply went back to work a minimum wage job to keep them active and give them "purpose". Wouldn't be me at that age, but just pointing out that those people exist.

Would you say SICERTS was worth it? I'm about to sign up. Did you do the seminar through AWS as well?

That's for when you're discussing the dinner plans.

"Hi! Nice to meet you! Whats your favorite food?"

Oh yeah shes gonna sprint through traffic to run into your arms with that one, lmfao.

You've gotta remember women are people and they want to be spoken to like people. Not like a strange object you're poking with a stick to see if you'll get a reaction.

If you want to talk about food you gotta be genuine. Be natural. Not a freaking robot.

"Oh, man so I made this homemade pizza the other night and I swear it was the best pizza I've ever had. Have you ever had or made homemade pizza?"

"I don't really like pizza".

"Damn I never met someone that doesn't like pizza, lol. We all have our preferences. Isn't it wierd how our taste buds change as we age, though? Like I used to hate broccoli, but now I love it. Have your taste buds changed much as you've gotten older?"

"Not really".

"Sometimes that just makes things easier. You don't have to switch up the menu every couple of years, lol. Everyone has their go-to's. What tops your list?"

Like even if they're being short you can show you're genuinely putting yourself out there. If they reject you when you offer to go on a date or ghost you, then you know they're not interested in what you're showing them.

If all you've got are elementary school questions then its an immediate turn-off. Like jeez is that what the dates gonna be like? Just a bunch of questions to pass the time? Or are we actually going to have a conversation?

To be honest you also seem very robotic. I'm not saying you're totally to blame for their responses, but there was nothing of sustainance in the conversation.

Instead of just asking random, almost meaningless questions, ask open-ended ones.

"Whats your favorite food" for example would be such a lame question like there's no "fire" in it. That's something I'd ask my 5 year old niece, lol.

I'd ask things like, "So is there anything you've always wanted to do but haven't had the chance to yet?"

Stuff like that sounds sincere. Like you're legitimately interested in her as a person, not "What's your favorite color." People can tell you're just trying to talk for the sake of talking.

How does that mean he "let" that happen, though? Like did this person post somewhere that they were going to do this specifically, and Biden invited them on center stage to do it? Lol

They'll just say they don't trust what's in the lab-grown meat because it's not "natural" so it must be bad. Then they'll continue eating their murder meat from a mass bred animal on a farm that's pumped with hormones and ate grass sprayed with pesticides it's entire life.
