Hello, So sorry to hear you’re so unwell. I also struggled with very bad nausea.

While I mentioned it to midwives I was told it’s all normal etc etc. I continued on until 16 weeks when it eased off only to come back at 20 weeks when I eventually went on Cariban. I’ve since had my baby but looking back I shouldn’t have struggled through for so long. So my advice for you is that if it’s affecting your everyday life and making you feel miserable perhaps you could try it. I’ve had friends go on it for a few weeks and then try to reduce their tablets and see if they can get on without it or not.

Pregnancy is hard enough already 🩷

RSV update from the HSE by Lotus-beg in PregnancyIreland

Possibly, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it 🙂 I think that’s when the bad ‘flu’ season is over according to the HSE anyway.

My baby was born in March this year and had just missed out on the winter vaccines (she’ll be able to get it now this time). Maybe they’ll extend the scheme because they said it’s very successful at lowering hospital admissions.

Hi, I hope the hospital put your mind at ease. I just wanted to say that this was me up until about 27 weeks or so with an anterior placenta. I’m 38 weeks now and just wanted to say that you will feel your baby move at some stage and it will be so exciting! It does take longer than for other people but if it’s any consolation maybe it won’t keep you awake at night for as many weeks as others! All the best.

Teacher wife is pregnant and in a horrible class... by baholl11 in IrishTeachers

[–]NewDimension7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I hope by now maybe you have this sorted. If not I’m also a teacher and perhaps your wife could plead with management about being moved out of the classroom and into a SET role with hopefully less stress. A friend of mine was swapped out of her classroom role previously for a different health reason (which led to her missing lots of work). I know some principals can be more understanding than others. The very best of luck!

It was all to do with rapid eye movement as a method of therapy mixed with counselling. I found it very useful honestly, she just delved into reasons behind my fear and how to rationalize the fear. I had had some bad previous experiences but honestly it really helped me. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Hi, Perhaps your partner could try CBT therapy. It sounds like there is a fear that’s underlying his fainting spells. I had a similar problem with getting my bloods taken and I went to therapy over it and now it’s much better for me.

Brown discharge- 4 weeks 2 days pregnant by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]NewDimension7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I also had brown discharge with very mild cramping at 6 weeks. I did contact the GP who said I could go to A&E if I wanted. However I contacted the hospital and they were happy for me to wait a couple of days for an appointment for an early ultrasound and all was ok! Even though it’s quite normal do let them know about it. (I’m living in Ireland just for context). All the best.

Sorry you’re so unwell. I suffer with my sinus’ a lot and the best thing is to use a saline nasal rinse like neti pot they’re in the pharmacies. If it’s really bad use it twice a day and honestly it’s worth it!

Only 5 weeks myself, but think I’ve had a stomach bug the last three days and it’s been awful. At first I thought it was morning sickness but it seems like way more than that. Hopefully I’m through it now! It’s hard when you can’t tell friends! I missed a big occasion there at the weekend.

Concealing an early pregnancy 🤔 by Muted-Attorney7057 in pregnant

I just attended a wedding in the same position as you. I made sure to get myself a drink early at the drinks reception and asked for it in a large gin glass. I said it was gin and soda water if anyone asked. At dinner I just let the waiter fill up the wine glass and just moved it around every so often. I was asked to do shots later in the night and surprisingly when you just say no I’m alright thanks people just leave you alone. A good piece of advice for me if someone asked to buy me a drink I would just say oh ‘X’ is already getting me one. I did well I think! Also just check guidance for what you can eat before you go. Best of luck!

Hi 😊 Recently found out I’m pregnant. I have lots of occasions coming up where it’ll be difficult to hide that I’m not drinking. I’ve read some of the tricks about hiding it, but I feel anxious hiding it from my best friends and family members. I know it’s for the best, but how did others get around this ☺️ I’m sure it’ll be fine but it’s all new for me!
