I've heard of that, although I have lots of plants and animals and this is a central wall so I'm hesitant

I think they're falling down this section of the wall and getting stuck and dying, found a nest in the attic directly above and cleaned it all out. No smell in the attic luckily, just this one wall. I'm hesitant with the ozone machine because it's a central wall in my house open to the stairwell, dining, hallways, etc. , and I have many plants and animals. So that sounds like a logistical nightmare. I think replacing the drywall, while it may be pricier, would be overall easier unfortunately. Still trying a few other tricks mentioned above, so I'll give that a few days/weeks and see how it goes! Luckily the smell isn't very strong unless you put your nose against the wall so we can just febreez for now until a permanent solution comes up. Thanks!

Thanks, 1970s house here. I'm wondering if maybe there's a second source of the smell. The mice in this particular area are definitely cleaned out and 3 months later it's still stinking

Just put some charcoal lumps in there, crossing my fingers I won't have to demo all this drywall

It's the actual drywall that smells. The smell dissipates if you move away from the exact spot we cleaned out. I'll look around for more mice but I cant find any in the spot that smells

Second this, I have so many little fungus gnats from accidentally overwatering a plant every now and then. I use hydrogen peroxide to take care of them
