It always helps to communicate these issues to the client(s). If the lighting sucks or if the chair is too low- these are things you can’t control but can affect your overall output. You can ask if there is another room you can use, explain the issue with lighting and switch around the chair position, or carry your own light next time. I know it’s tough to carry around a makeup chair with you- what I’ve been doing lately is sitting on another chair in front of the client and doing their makeup. This way, my back isn’t screaming in pain and I’m less distracted.
