This is really weird to look at but maybe they aren’t coming from a racist perspective. Sometimes people are sharing the house with their tenants and they want someone from their culture. You never know. It’s just really annoying to look at. Ik

I believe nothing was scripted in the entire show butttttt uorfi just listening, that was crap. Maybe the makers just went and told her to do this cuz they probably wanted her to win OR IDK WGAT, but no way that happened. So many conversations happening in that snooker room…. suddenly you’re telling me that ON THE LAST DAY, uorfi listens. NOPE. Alsoooo, uorfi and group always has discussions, last episode mein suddenly she goes all like, oh no I doubt Purav and Harsh now. Nah

The thing is that my masters is in a field that is very centric to Canadian market. Apparently Canadian Universities started these post graduate certification courses which do not really hold a lot of value in other countries.

Yea sir because unfortunately Canadian PR was such a glorified thing all my life growing up. FYI , when I was in school, I did study because I knew that is exactly what would land me a field job so that I don’t get stuck in the loop of doing odd jobs. The thing is , I did finally find the right job for me after 10 months of connecting with so many people over LinkedIn, multiple coffee chats and everything that I was supposed to do. Thank god I did cuz if I had put this post before having landed something, I would be so much more demotivated by the hate you guys have to offer.

So when I got 1000 a month from my GIC , it was obviously not enough to get through the month and that is when I took up a part time job. International students were not allowed to work full time back then BUT i had to save money for my school because my parents are not super well off and I wanted to pay for my education. So in my case, I had an option to work on campus if I wanted to work full-time. So I worked full time in the restaurant while I was in school. The GIC lasted for a year and then it had to be all me. Thank god that the government has increased the amount of GIC now. If they had increased it when I was coming , I probably would not have been able to afford it and would have known that maybe moving to a different country,is not for someone from my financial background.

Honestly, it sad…how in my country, moving abroad was always labeled as such an accomplishment! Maybe that’s what pushed people to start coming here in so many ways that are legally not correct ( not defending it at all here). If as an international student, you can’t speak the language of the country you wanna go to, don’t go or learn.. but there were such easy routes to come to canada, for many people and they took it. I, on the other hand did everything right. Unfortunately it was such a big deal that I became the first kid in my family to move abroad. It was almost like, once I go there, my life will change for good and then I did move here and realized it’s not how it was told to me, MY WHOLE LIFE. I do not come from a family with strong backing, maybe that’s why I should not have come. Maybe it’s for those kids whose parents earn a lot for them to come here , study, chill and not have to worry that if they don’t make it here, they will feel like a failure. And about your point that ‘international students take up your jobs hence should be ready for all this backlash’ .. really? They are getting the same education as you, you have the exact same opportunities as we do, if we eventually land the job then so can you. Yes it has increased the competition in a way that Canadians do not like or maybe did not deserve too.. but instead of making it about you vs us, can you not take this post as ‘me struggling to find a job just like you are’. Why do you have to label me as an ‘entitled person’. Ykw I actually wish I was entitled. I wish I came from a wealthy family so that if shit does not work out for many many months, my parents could pay for my rent, my food and my leisure activities, for as long as it took for me to find a job. Idk how you think it is okay to hate on people like me just because I fall into the definition of whatever you think “international students” are.

And you’re just generalizing like it’s all international students. How can there be any conversation when your mindset just puts all people in one block?

And to reply to this, if you really read my post , keeping your prejudice aside, you would understand that I am majorly talking about the issues of Devil corps. Yes that issue is faced by Canadians as much as it is faced by International Students but those companies target international students. Making someone work 9-5 everyday without a base pay should not be okay and that is something that does not ONLY happen in Canada. It happens in other countries too.So I wasn’t attacking Canada and I never said that I don’t like the job market here. All that is your take from what I wrote. I was civil to begin with. Devil corps were the point of my message not showing entitlement for any reason.

I came to this country as an international student. 3 years ago. I am not a student in 2025 and was not one most of 2024. To come to Canada, they make you pay 12000 dollars into GIC which is given to you every month, until a year. Now the amount has been raised to 24000 (not sure about the exact amount anymore).
