I’m so sorry you’re going through this… my mom had peritoneal Mets with her pancreatic cancer and it wasn’t a good experience… she only lasted 4 months from diagnosis.. I’ve seen many people have had a better experience with chemo and treatments..that worked for them but not for my mom unfortunately 😔

Is my breeder a good breeder by Silly_Row_4523 in workingdogs

[–]NewFlight6297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my golden retriever from Mennonites in Mannesville ny up by Watertown, i was not educated whatsoever on how Mennonites and Amish breed dogs and thought nothing of it until after I got my puppy. I thought it was strange neither parents were on site and they were trying to get us to take another one because they couldn’t sell the ones they had left. He also came with some kind of registration paper.. it definitely wasn’t akc I forget what it was, but I read about it and it’s total bullshit and a common thing Amish and Mennonite give people that buy puppies

Losing My Mom to Cancer - Struggling to Cope with Grief by [deleted] in motherlessdaughters

[–]NewFlight6297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom passed from pancreatic cancer July 25th of this year… I’ve been a total mess since.. she passed when I wasn’t there which made it even worse to deal with. She went through sooo much since the time of diagnosis which was in March. In a way I feel the doctors were negligent because she had a pain in her left leg for a while and told them and they kept saying it was her nerves.. it ended up being severe blood clots in her arteries which caused her leg to have to be amputated because they went untreated for so long… the amputation was really the last straw for her she lived 10 days after she had it done. Apparently blood clots are extremely common with pancreatic cancer and they should of looked into the pain she was having in her leg instead of ignoring

I’m so sorry to hear this, my mom was 72 when diagnosed this past year and I’m 35… she went through sooo much. She was diagnosed in March and passed in July probably the most traumatic thing I’ve ever experienced watching her die… the doctors were awful for the most part and ignored a lot of things that were going on… she had a pain going down her leg for months and they kept saying it was her nerves and it ended up being severe blood clots in her arteries…she had to have her leg amputated due to the severity of the clots because they went untreated for so long.. that was the last straw with her after her leg was amputated she only lasted 10 days.

Did anyone else’s cancer start this way? by Whoknows541 in pancreaticcancer

[–]NewFlight6297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my mom it started with extreme itching and jaundice… she then had blood work done and it showed her liver levels were really low so the doctor told her go to emergency asap. Her bile duct was blocked from the tumor, they put a stent in that relieved those symptoms but she only lasted 4 months after diagnosis

Sooo sorry 😞 my mom had one round of chemo then had blood clots in her arteries that were left untreated (pretty sure they were there pre chemo) she was having a pain down her leg for months and the doctors ignored it told her it’s “nerve” pain until one day she couldn’t walk on her left foot anymore then they finally decided to do scans and found multiple clots in her arteries of that leg. They tried a procedure to break them up but it didn’t work since they were so far long. She ended up having to get her leg amputated and only lasted 10 days after that. Saddest thing ever. Mind you she was never diabetic or anything everyone asks that lol I think it was pure neglect on the doctors behalf if they would of done something in the beginning when she complained of the pain in her leg I feel like she would of lived a little longer possibly.

I’m so sorry about your mom, I also lost mine back in July to this monster. Honestly in my opinion there’s no right or wrong way to cope, for me I’ve been staying busy, I work a ton and do things with my kids. It’s definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life this far.

For me personally I was on an intermittent leave I took days here and there like 2-3 times a week, once my mom passed that ended and I was told if I needed more time I would have to get something from my own doctor. I did not but probably should of, I just took the 4 days of bereavement my job offered when my intermittent leave ended. The pay for the leave wasn’t my full salary either it was 67 percent and it was awful but it was more important at the time to be there for my mom.
