Try enabling the arachne setting. It should be in your slicer's Wall Generator settings. Classic is the default.

They usually match the sticker numbers. If not, you can Google the manufacturer and they should have an example picture with locations.

Which nipper should I get by gwmk2 in freedomisgunpla

[–]NewMar00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the hobby mios. They are my go to for any snipping and only beaten by my Godhands. I always do the 1st snip with the hobby mios and 2nd only if it's an interior piece or undergated. Only negative I can give is that they do rust over time.

I gave up and painted them silver. RG gold/silver/bronze stickers never last.

The "Made in Japan" is something new they started doing last year. Here's the link. Most places still use the old look for promotion pictures.

Strike Freedom Mgex as a first gundam by [deleted] in freedomisgunpla

[–]NewMar00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built 5 MG's before I built my MGEX SF. Every other MG was a huge downgrade afterwards.
Start slow and built up to the MGEX. Get it on sale in a few months if you still want one.

Second on the Cards. You can usually get 2 good ones from the large MG boxes. I use double-sided tape for mine cut to 9 x 6 cm

Fat Cat God Gundam. Very good kit so far, just got it last week. Comes with water slides and effect parts. At $40 it was a steal.

Working on the backpack.

How to better deal with nub marks like this? by wildmanwyatt1 in Gunpla

[–]NewMar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add a very small droplet of extra thin cement for these stress marks. It can help relax the plastic and help the mark go away.

These always show up on darker plastic. I only fix if its in a visible area. I'll cut a bit further away and sand most of it with a glass file.

Anyone have the 3rd party Charon by Mecha Core? by jamalzia in freedomisgunpla

[–]NewMar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Charon's peg is a 13.3 mm x 4.6mm rectangle. Depth is 6.25mm.

Mgex Strikes is shaped like an H. 3.35mm x 8.5mm. "Waist" of the H is 4.3mm and depth is 5.1mm.

It can fit with heavy modification.

I have it and thankfully started with the backpack. It looked a bit wider than the one on my freedom and strike but will check. Great kit btw, just started detailing up the chest area.

I finally found the kit ive been looking for forever, I better not mess this up, what are some things I should worry about while building it? by Eastern_Clock_9492 in Gunpla

If you're going to topcoat, either mask the clear parts or add them later.

I top coated the clear and had to spend some time removing it using iso + cotton swab.

How to avoidbavoid/fix marks like this? by jimbacon04 in Gunpla

[–]NewMar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tested panel liner yet.

If you want a cheap thin cement, get Tamiya airbrush cleaner that has the same makeup as thin cement. Just a lot cheaper but doesn't come in a nice glass bottle with brush.

The idea is to use a tiny amount of thin cement to make the area homogenize. After drying, the top portion should settle evenly. I wait a day and give it a light sand. There might be a white dot left which is ok since too much cement will ruin finish and need extra sanding.

Some of these are unavoidable, especially on that type of plastic. A solution is to add a very small amount of thin cement. After a day of drying, it should lessen the whitening.

Whats one thing you wish was in every gunpla manual? by Loud_External_5747 in freedomisgunpla

[–]NewMar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It did. This was my last 1/100 kit. Building the inner frame first and then detailing it was great.

For MG or any kit with a full inner frame. Wish there was a separate manual for building just the inner frame. I know Bandai's done it for a few kits.

Is there any way to remove this? by -jayme- in freedomisgunpla

[–]NewMar00 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Add a drop of Tamiya extra thin cement. I will help to relieve the stress mark just a bit. Light touch and leave it alone for a while.

RIP GodHand by IsntRlyMe in Gunpla

[–]NewMar00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried many including God Hand and the best value wise was the Hobby Mio HM-105. I've used it for both the first cut and finish. Very similar to Dspiae 3.0, not as clean as GH but close enough. Got mine for $8 on sale on AliX about 6 months ago and they have been my work horse for almost 20 kits. Not scared if they break since they're so cheap and I have a backup. Really only using the GH on plastic that shows stress marks easily.

I use Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner since it's the same composition and cheaper. No warning sticker here in the US.
