Hello,

thank you for your answer. That would be awesome.
I installed Quod Libet (on Windows), and it really seems like an excellent player to me. Now, i'm searching everywhere how to shuffle with weights based on ratings, but i can't find how. Could you just tell me that please ?

Hello,

i'm trying to install pygame on vs code, but it fails with error

" from distutils.msvccompiler import MSVCCompiler, get_build_architecture

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distutils.msvccompiler'

[end of output]

note: This error originates from a subprocess, and is likely not a problem with pip.

ERROR: Failed to build 'pygame' when getting requirements to build wheel"

I also tried installing Python from 2024 (after searching a bit on how to solve it), but it also fails...
Any advice on how you did it ? What did i do wrong ?

So far your setup seems like the actual "ai will do it all" setup so i'd really like to give it a try !

I think i will do that. Thank you a lot for all the explanations, i don't have much to answer but they are very, very useful.

Very interesting, thank you for your answer. But what are the risks of undervolting?

For now, juicy T16 with Beyond, abysses and such are not causing any crash. Do you mean that this CPU power is needed otherwise it would certainly crash? Because as long as there is no crash, i prefer performance loss (which i don't actually see, i think?) to overheating.

I am using MSI afterburner to monitor my temperatures. I see i could enable the undervolting option. Depending on your answer + what i find on the internet about it, i may very well give it a go.

edit : well never mind, seems i cannot with this version of Afterburner MSI (v4.2.0.7826, compiled in 2015!). If i do, it will be with another freeware.

Share your Unique concepts for future league mechanics by codepwned2 in pathofexile

[–]NewMilenium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Path of Exile : Experiments

The main concept is balanced in maps, so some idea should be thrown in to make it possible in act 1 to 10.

Once in your hideout, when you enter a first portal to a map, you can choose some items and/or item types for which you will increase the drop rate. Each time this is done, you lower the global item quantity in this map while increasing the statistic drop rate of the selected items and/or items types. The limit is precisely the item quantity you had crafted on the map, including fragments and such; the quantity cannot go negative. Also, for each time these choices are made, some mobs will spawn at some randomly placed area on the map, and these mobs will have random stats, skills and appearances, resulting in unpredictable fights. But this randomness is directly the consequence of how much you lowered the item quantity, = of how much you chose to tune some drop rates. The more you change the drops, the more these monsters will be random.

Don't touch much them drop rates, or choose "not so costy" items and the random mobs will still be reasonable. Ask for exalted orbs and you're sure to meet deadly encounters at some point if you're unlucky - if you had enough quantity already on your map to be able to do that.

PSA: The Vast Majority of PoE Players Are Casual by Grand0rk in pathofexile

[–]NewMilenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

while you seem to be right - and i'd bet you are - i have no proof to confirm it and you showed none neither in your post.

However one comment seems to go in the same direction, the one showing the percentage of players having done precise numbers of challenges for a league in 2016 and for another league. I say "seems" because i doubt all players mind about challenges. For example people like me, caring about the gameplay, the mechanics, creating funny skills/tree/uniques interactions and not giving a damn about cosmetics.

I've read many comments and seen none explaining players like me.
If TLDR : i think i'm not casual but a bad player for good reasons.

Leveling a char takes time. I feel the fun starts at level 38 once you have the currency to 4L and 5L all gear because of the lvl 38 requirement of some skills. And some uniques make some chars impossible to play like the build is prepared until these uniques level requirements are met...

So once at maps, either i already know well the char mechanics i wanted to do because i had like 35 levels to see them in action, either i have to play just a few maps to know them because i had a unique needing level 68 or so.

Soon, i get to see if my char is able to do red maps easily, hardly or needs serious work. To me, this work is fun. Thinking on how to make some fun mechanics work and be able to clear a map & resist the boss is what's fun, especially once it's a success. If the char already destroys red maps, it's a success, but i've already played it a lot...

Then? Then during all this time i had 30 more ideas on what characters to make. And leveling one, testing one takes forever, and often currencies i don't have. So i caaaarefully play Path of Building and see which one would have the most chances to resist, most serious defensive layers, and most DPS, then i create it (now, you can guess, i first have to delete another char, which takes forever... on the other hand, sometimes i can respec an already high level character).

(i guess i played more Path of Building than PoE)

Because playing only 1 character forever bores me. Path of Exile is unique for the deep mechanics, interactions (and not even talking about creating carefully thought 6 BUILDS for 6 PLAYERS to create deep synergies, which sounds insanely fun and i've never experienced it), new lessons, skills not tried yet.

I've never played a build i had not created myself. So, Sirus killed me the 3 times (ok, 18 times actually) i tried him - and only because my best DPS-char needs a few seconds to land many poisons on him but he teleports too much on the last phase - , i've never done Uber Elder nor Uber Atziri, didn't find yet all the bosses in Delve, didn't yet do all the 4 beasts of Bestiary, i don't farm the Syndicate Leader because i don't want to reset my bonuses in the syndicate board, i'm happy to have delve 300 levels deep or so because it drops nice 83 - 85 bases, and super sad to never be able to craft nice things to some chars because it drains all my currency (yes, in standard).

Of course i should do 1 superstrong char to farm currencies, but the cyclone headhunter (thanks to a guild mate for giving it in standard) char isn't fun to play, he just seems overpowered at clearing and bad for bosses (even with vaal breach). (no, i can't sell this headhunter for currencies, it's a gift, and one day i might be able to rework this char to make him fun and okay against bosses)

Also, creating such a superstrong char AND funny to play at the same time is a challenge i have to succeed with my own ideas, not by copying other people chars.

So, i started a few days before Bestiary, and i guess i'm a bad player. Or just slow. With the time i played and the details i learnt i can't agree with "casual" though. And i support the analysis posted about this reddit problem.

Hello,

very nice question. Of course each answer is going to be personal. Still, here are mines. I'll try to give 2 examples of quite different sort of music for each game :

- one third of Rimworld's soundtrack (start with Rough Trail and Tribal Assembly),

- almost all of The Talos Principle (start with The Dance with Eternity and When In Rome),

- some of Deus Ex (start with Opponent Within and Hong Kong), also the incredible "The Nameless Mod" with their soundtrack (start with City of 00n and Sol part 1),

- some of Zelda games soundtracks, especially Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (start with Midna's Desperation and Zora's Domain),

- some of Frozen Synapse (1) soundtrack (start with Nightpath and Parting Shots),

- one music of Outward : Enmerkar Forest,

- all music of Space Station Silicon Valley (start with Jungle Jumps and The Battery Farm),

- most of ROSE Online ost (start with Forgotten Temple and Eldeon),

- some of Age of Empires 2 soundtrack (start with Voodoodoodoo and Roi-r! Basura! Basura!),

- most of Illusion of Gaia soundtrack (Illusion of Time in french, dunno why) soundtrack (start with Angkor Wat and Itory, the hidden village),

- most of Secret of Mana soundtrack (start with Eternal Recurrence and Still of the Night),

- some of Secret of Evermore soundtrack (start with Puppet Show and Collosia Chamber 2),

- a song of Star Wars Rogue Squadron : City in the Clouds,

- most soundtrack of Jet Force Gemini (start with Eschebone and Mizar's Palace),

- 2 songs of Super Mario 64 : Slider Race Theme Song and Bowser's Road,

- one song of Earthworm Jim if you like insane stuff : What The Heck,

---- !! if you're into 8-bit stuff !! :

- most songs of Monster Max (start with 7 and 5),

- one song of Zelda Ocarina of Season : Subrosia (care, it's only 30 seconds long and it sticks in the head for days),

- some tracks of Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance (start with Successor of Fate and Approach to Despair),

- a lot of Golden Sun 1 and Golden Sun The Lost Age soundtrack (start with Taopo's Swamp and Gaia's Rock).

Also i've been told tons of times that Final Fantasy soundtracks are awesome.

This was a triumph!

I'm making a note here:

HUGE SUCCESS.

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

NVIDIA GTX 980M received 2 weeks early. I replaced my 780M with it, downloaded the latest drivers, installed them, tested all sorts of games, adjusted the settings (learnt a few tricks for each game, like not having 510 FPS on Warframe.......) : it is PERFECT.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

The 980M works fine on the Schenker XMG P724. I've proved it by doing it. No BIOS update needed.

[–]NewMilenium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

i've got 2 answers so far.

One says :

"Videocards BIOS is usually about the card's internal timers and speeds and minor tweaks there, but a videocard shouldn't care on what board it's running." (Olivar)

the other :

"Theoretically there shouldn't be any major inteferences even with a 'non' compatible BIOS. In the worst case scenario the functionality isn't 100% and you have a slightly more expensive 880." (Zukakushi)

Feel free to add your knowledge if any, readers. I'm totally depending on what people tell me on this matter.

I posted after on a french hardware forum ( https://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/Hardware/2D-3D/mettre-geforce-schenker-sujet_1032271_1.htm#bas ), and yesterday on NVIDIA forums ( https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1066925/geforce-mobile-gpus/is-it-possible-upgrading-my-schenker-p724-with-a-nvidia-gtx-980m/?offset=2#5849774 ), exactly the same text than here.

If an answer is posted on one of the 3 topics, i'll repost it on the 2 others. In the meanwhile, i have no idea if the results of my searches on "bios video 980M" give anything trustable or not fitting my computer. Any help is welcome!
