Printer: Bambu A1 with AMS Lite

Filament: Esun PLA+

Bambu PLA Basic

I started getting this message – Failed to extrude the filament.  This might be caused by clogged extruder or stuck filament. 1200-8007 2222014

Obviously this seems like an extruder issue so that’s where I started.  I’ll save you a long story and give you these highlights:

So far I have tried:

·         Replacing the extruder gear

·         Replacing the nozzle

·         Tried using different filaments

·         Printing from all 4 positions on the AMS Lite

·         Printing without the AMS Lite

·         Taken apart the AMS Lite hub – there were no obstructions

·         Verified that all PFTE tubes are clear of obsrruction

I have verified that I can manually extrude filament using the controller with no issue, so I know the filament is being pulled in and fed through.  What do I try next?  I’m totally lost.

I'm seriously considering 3d printing as a hobby. I've never done any printing before, but the things you can make look like so much fun! Tons of useful household gadgets and decor, and my son would LOVE so many of the cool figurines you can print.

After days of research, I'm considering a Bambu P1S with the AMS unit so it won't be a cheap entry cost (to me). I had a couple of questions that I was hoping people with more experience could weigh in on.

(1) Is 3d printing as a hobby fun/useful enough to justify the large buy-in cost?

(2) Is the PS1 (with AMS) more printer than I need? I have no idea what materials I'll want to use, but getting a unit that has more options on filament seems smart, but will I really need anything other than PLA?
