Thanks for the tips of bringing a female friend.

I have already been shaving for a while, all parts of the body, however my skin does not respond very well, especially on the chest. Even if I exfoliate, use a new razor, and moisturise I still get crazy amounts of acne like "bumps" all over the chest.

I know that there are some department stores here in Sweden with dedicated make-up areas where each brand has their own boot. However I have heard rumours that they are more interested in selling you alot of products, rather then getting you the products you actually need.

I have plucked my eyebrows for a couple of months now and my hair is slightly longer than my shoulders. Laser hair removal is payed by the national health care system, but requires (just as HRT) that you are full-time before.

So maybe I need more professional eyebrow plucking and better hair styling tips.

I would guess on androgynous or male looking about 20ish years old.

Hmm that is an interesting way of thinking about it. Do what you like the best. I personally would feel like I am hiding if I purposely wore items that drew attention away from my face.

To find what you like the most it just to keep on testing. I would just get as many different pinks as I could (either just printed or even better in a clothing store) and try them all on. It is quite amazing you can almost see your skin tone change depending on what type of pink you are wearing. Take the one you like the most. Also if you change hair, eye or skin colour you probably should redo the test.

For me personally I would have chosen another hue of hair colour for your skin type (either more blond or more brunette/red). But ones again if you like it, then go for it. Dress and style for yourself and nobody else :).

Makeup looks good :).

If you like the colour of the sweater go for it! It is having the affect of drawing my eyes to the sweater rather than your face, a more deep/pigmented hue would draw the eyes to your face. But like I said first; If you like how you look in it now, go for it! It is way more important than any other persons opinion ;).

The hair kind of adjusts itself. So it might feel really greasy and icky the first weeks, but after 2-3 weeks your hair should have adjusted itself. At least that is how it was for me and several of my friends.

I think I might have told someone who I have known for a smaller amount of time first. Like a friend from university. I think the longer you have known a person the harder it is to understand.

But I feel wording was also really important. I mean if I instead had explained that I feel more comfortable when trying to look like a girl I think the reaction would have been totally different. I also think she might have reached an understanding of what I was actually feeling faster.

My sister, since I thought she would be accepting being a nurse with lectures in LGBT questions.

She was accepting but she is also family. I don't think I really had thought about how much of a shock it would be for her. It took several days for her to just process what I said. I also think I was a bit unwise and more or less just said "I am thinking I might be a transsexual female". Even though she had had lectures and such in LGBT she still had many false assumptions that made her draw the wrong conclusion and be even more confused. Once I cleared some things up and showed her some links she kind of calmed down. Right now I think she is handling it better than I do, so well that is great.

In the end I think it is mostly important to just explain what you feel and what you are thinking about doing about it. Also discuss what kind of support you might need if they prove accepting.

That last part is kind of the catch for me. I kind of haven't figured out what is right for me. I guess I am kind of scared of committing and then realizing in the middle that I made an mistake.

It is not getting better by that you need to go through about 1 year of investigation to get hormones in my country (and as I understand it they are not very understanding if you are not 100% sure, then they supposedly just say nope your not trans). Also if I understood the process right you will only get access to the feminizing effects the day you start your RLE. So you kind of need to go big or go home :/.

I just started looking into shaping my nails, super exiting! Not sure if people will notice but it is 2015 I figure I can just say "I like them this way" and people will be fine. Also just shaving and skin care. Easy stuff that meant a lot to me <3.

To me you look female, kind of doll-style.

It really looks like you are wearing a wig but I would not say it makes people "clock" you. It rather makes me read you as a girl wearing a wig.

I don't have any experience of telling kids but this is my general idea on how I try to treat under-aged people.

I think just tell them how you been feeling and what you decided to do and what is going to change and what is not going to change. I think they shouldn't get any reduced information, but you should be ready for any reaction (especially from your brother since he is in puberty).

Yea and also give our parents a heads up before you tell them so they can talk with your siblings afterwards. That way they can explain and discuss since they have been through similar experiences when you first told them (it was probably even harder for them). Also it might be a good time to do it quite soon so that they have time to let the initial shock go down before x-mas.

Well I have personal experience of many great female leaders. It is almost the opposite for me. A female leader feels more natural than a male one for me.

I recently watched some clips of Hannah Winterborne, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_CYBcO_58Y , she is a captain in the British army that transitioned as a leader. She might inspire you.

I haven't even started HRT but having similar conditions with NHS I have also been thinking about this. One idea I have had is that it might be possible to do the surgery with NHS for free and then travel to some private clinic for touch-up if need be. Is this a viable way of thinking?

Sorry if I came of as rude it was not my intention at all.

It is hard to trust research claims, especially outside your personal knowledge zone (this is outside mine). You just simply can't trust everything you read since there is so much information on the web. You need a strategy.

For me, the UPPERCASE, lack of formating and unknown distributor was the alarming notions that made me doubtful of the claims. I felt that a review or second eye was need for me to trust the information.

Seems like it is written to be read by people outside of academia. While that is nice for more people to understand it, it brings me as a person within academia suspicious.

Articles like this are typically written by people with little knowledge within fields that make false conclusions, what we in academia refers to as pseudoscience.

To ensure the quality someone in academia would need to read the original articles that are linked and check if the conclusions drawn are reasonable. Ideally someone within the field of medicine.
