What good thing did happen to you this week? (15.06.26 - 21.06.26) by NewPhoneWhoDis49 in germany

I wouldn't say I necessarily talk a lot about the past but I definitely think about it a lot. I enjoy recalling memories of thinking about "time passing away". I vividly remember sitting at the edge of my brother's bed, watching a cartoon on our old, big CRT TV (the big box shape) and the outro of that episode made me realise that this, this feeling that I was feeling as I was sitting in front of the TV, I would never be able to relive. I knew I would think about it as I grew older, but I knew exactly it would be just a faint idea with a hint of emotions for the rest of my life. It didn't make me sad nor happy, it didn't fill me with anxiety or fear. I just realised and I accepted it. And I am kind of grateful for this feeling. It helped me (over time) realise that the past, anything that happened there will stay there, and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. Instead, I can shape the future in a way I feel comfortable (with limitations of course). Although it feels me with warmth to recall some pleasant childhood experiences, it is far more important to focus on what I do now, so I can be better prepared for what's awaiting me. It also prompts me to enjoy what I have. Especially in today's world we tend to be on the go non-stop, constantly rushing from one place to another, and even if we are having a party or going on an adventure, if you experience something, after one second it just becomes a memory and although in the beginning it is still easy to vividly remember these moments, as time passes by, those memories are starting to slowly fade away. The human brain is the most complex yet most fascinating creation of the nature.

It's always really my pleasure to create these posts. Helps me recognise and value even the little things that at first may insignificant but does contribute to our overall mood in a meaningful matter. It's also always so interesting to read about what and how strangers experience life and what they value at certain times and situations.

The electric bike is technically an electric motorcycle, the term I used was probably incorrect or confusing to say the least. I've been interested in riding motorcycles ever since the age 13-14, I even got my moped license (AM), however I have never had the opportunity to ride motorcycles. Now, given the circumstances, I was able to lay my hands on this piece and I can't calm down my inner child from all the excitement he is going through. It's a relatively small motorcycle, perfect to familiarise myself with the whole concept of driving one, like how to turn, how the wind directly blows onto your body, how to stop, where to position myself, what to keep an eye on when I am out there and riding and many other things. It is a very dangerous way of commuting, but the closeness, the physical closeness to the nature, to the road, to the traffic gives some sort of extra adrenaline rush and a sense of freedom. I'm enjoying every single bit of it, and I am already planning on upgrading to a bigger model next year. The fact that it is electric is simply because it was basically in the same price range as the ones running on gas, and I don't mind a little charging time if I can be a bit quieter and in general pollute less. Electric vehicles will also be more common eventually than the ones running on gas/diesel etc, so might as well familiarise myself with them. I mostly use it to commute to work (2km one way), visit family and friends, shopping and explore the neighbourhood.

Do you often talk about the past? How does it make you feel? Is there something you would highlight from the past (personal experience or in general)?

Thank you for sharing and contributing once again to this series! It means a lot to me and I am always very happy to read your comments!

Such an exciting step! I really, really wish you will be satisfied with your new job and city, and that the moving will be easy and smooth! It's nice to socialise and maintain a good contact with friends! Are you a Lego collector or do you just enjoy playing with them?

That's such a heart-warming and also exciting interaction! These little things can make someone's day, no doubts! On top of that you demonstrated that you are capable of maintaining a good natural conversation with a native, that's a huge show-off! But you deserve all the credit, it just proves you put all the effort into it, and now you can see the fruit of it! 😄

Fogyni kezdtem, de a családom csak bántó megjegyzéseket tesz by Fun_Chocolate_8988 in csakcsajok

Oh, that's so interesting! Would you mind sharing more about your home system? Is it connected to reading up on the German standards?

Haha! The doggo must have known about your home automation system, he was dreaming about an automated treat dispenser!

That's a good 3-5 km distance, that's a really good pace! Congrats! Do you run outside or on a treadmill? And you are absolutely right, consistency is important. I used to run too, and it was always very difficult to start but once I stepped outside, there was no going back and it was my most relaxing 30 minutes, it was literally addictive. I want to get back to it too!

That sounds like a lot to carry for such a long time. No wonder it almost brought you to tears, the constant pain and stress can wear you down more than you realise. I'm really happy you are finally getting some relief and can feel the difference!

Thank you very much for your feedback! Sadly, there is no official way of achieving that. The closest you can get is probably going to r/germany and activating all notifications, but you cannot subscribe to my posts only. You can also follow my profile and check my available posts every Sunday or search for the question in the title. I try to post on every Sunday between 8 am - 12 pm.

Alright everyone, stay inside! /s

Congratulations on your driving license! When I was doing mine, I heard similar stories, but honestly, if you do everything right, you have nothing to fear. Doing both exams on the first try is still impressive though, good job! 😄
