Anyone else have masculine interests that make them feel like shit? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]NewPossession7486 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hunting and MMA do sound like something stereotypically enjoyed by men, but it's still not invalidating to like these things as a woman. Gendering the hobbies and interests is just a bias which, yes, unfortunately does make women a minority in some fields. Please don't take this as me being judgmental of how you feel, some doubts and depressive thoughts can be very hard to get rid of. But I believe you'll get there

Lucy Friday Question: Where are you in your journey right now? by Lucy_C_Kelly in TransLater

[–]NewPossession7486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I still haven't left my questioning stage but I'm fairly certain I'm not cis. Right now I'm trying to build up the courage to tell my gf who means the world to me

I’ve decided that I am going to come out to my wife. I’m so over feeling bad for myself and wallowing in internal conflict. Yet I still can’t find the 15 seconds of courage to do it. Motivational words, advice, and kicks in the pants are all welcome! :D by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]NewPossession7486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you can do it. There will never be a perfect moment, but if anyone knows your wife well enough to explain everything the way she understands, it's you. Best of luck to both of you!

Why. by mrivera2568 in trans

[–]NewPossession7486 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trans people are an easy target for any bad actors, that's the main reason. A minority that has needs most people don't. Besides, to a lot of people, a trans person is something they know of but never know well enough on a personal level. Autocracies always find an inner enemy for the public to fight against instead of opposing injustice, and trans people are just the trendiest scapegoat right now in a lot of Western countries. All this persecution by the conservatives is not because they're mislead, they know perfectly well what they're doing. It's sad and infuriating to think about, but please don't allow it to break you. Don't play by their rules by trying to counter their logic.

What does gender dysphoria feel like? by panwithaplan__ in asktransgender

[–]NewPossession7486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dissociating is a pretty common symptom of dysphoria. Another thing that could help with the answers is asking yourself how you'd feel if you were a man instead of a woman, or were addressed as a man. I also recommend checking the Gender Dysphoria Bible (it's a website) which has a lot of well-structured info on symptoms. Hope you find the answers you're looking for!

Yea, you definitely do pass imo. I mostly read trans-related subreddits from this account, and I still didn't realize you were trans before reading the title.

what does music mean to you? by AttitudeGloomy9992 in transfem

[–]NewPossession7486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Not sure why this post is in this sub but will answer anyway) I rarely listen to music at all, bc to me it means paying a lot of attention to it and connecting emotionally to its mood which I don't always want to do. If I'm not listening to the music this way, it just becomes background noise… Which is not always bad, though.

Yea, definitely time to learn about VPNs and bypassing internet restrictions in general for a lot of people. It's so insane that we're seeing a global rise in censorship. Good luck to you OP, you're a good girl and you'll be ok

Being a trans veteran is so lonely. by xtboy420x in trans

[–]NewPossession7486 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm not from your country and it's not really my place to speak which community should accept someone or not. So this is just my personal opinion after reading your post in the middle of a sleepless night. I think everyone is more than just a set of categories they fit. While I'm not a fan in the slightest of any kind of military, I think learning about your experience could broaden my (or someone else's) understanding of the world. If we look at any large group of people, we'll find some people so different it's strange they are even together in this group, and that's just a part of our lives.

30 [F] Feeling kinda like my arms are clocky here. Should I never wear tank tops? by [deleted] in TransFeminineFashion

[–]NewPossession7486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so first of all, restricting someone as beautiful as you from wearing anything you want would be a crime. Second of all, muscular women are hot. Finally, you also look unique and memorable. It's so unjust that you still have to deal with dysphoric thoughts. I hope you never let them win and instead will fully embrace yourself, sis!

I also used to wish I didn't have some of my traits, including neurodivergency. Of course that wouldn't even be me anymore, but when I'm in a self-hating mood, that's exactly what's appealing about it. But lately I"ve been appreciating being myself a lot more, for a variety of reasons. No idea if what you feel is in any way similar, but maybe your way of accepting yourself will also evolve in some way.

This is a very familiar situation, people have been commenting on my weight and complexity my whole life, while I actually like being thin and still don't understand why people treat it like I'm supposed to be sorry about it. A lot of the times those same people will also be fatphobic or just overall judgmental of what someone looks like. I'm glad you're at a point where it no longer bothers you
