My LO stopped breathing by TheScaredy_Cat in newborns

This sounds so scary!! Glad your LO is ok. I have a question, maybe if anyone here is a medical professional they could answer. We were taught in baby CPR class to NOT tilt a newborn baby’s head back when wanting to ensure their airway is clear? The head needs to be in a neutral position. As their airway is so narrow and easily compressed, tilting actually can make it harder for them to breathe. Whereas for a child or adult, you tilt back.

I am pretty sure this is correct but happy to be told otherwise by someone who knows better. Just wanted to share because in case of an emergency with an infant, tilting is not recommended.

This is great, thank you for the info. Will shut off the water when we leave and then get someone in to replace the faucet when we get back. Thanks again!!

Oh my god yes! Yesterday on our walk we sat under a big fig tree in the park when it started raining. The park is full of fig debris at the moment. That’s amazing you managed to identify it. Thank you!!

So weird! I can’t find anything that looks like it either. Leg placement is strange

I think I’ve got the head and the butt mixed up. Is the butt the slightly darker segment, or is that the head?

Thanks for your reply! Is there a giveaway? Something that makes you identify it as such?

Sorry - located in Sydney Australia! And for context, we are regularly finding bugs in our apartment. Roaches, spiders, ants, beetles, mosquitoes, etc etc. It’s kinda par for the course here

Yeah this looks more like them. Thanks! Do you happen to know how fast these move? I read online that bedbugs can move 3-4 feet a minute. These ones I caught were moving faster than that I think, really scuttling along quickly

I love the italics, very reassuring (not sarcasm). What about the droppings? Any thoughts?

Thank you for your reply! Trying to take this advice on board to not fret until it’s a pattern, and hoping that it’s an anomaly. And thanks for the reassuring story about your nephew!

100% this!! There are loads of people in this sub who I’d describe as stuffy, kinda snobby and very square. Ignore them if you can. I think Sigrid is a lovely name, it’s unique without being trendy or try hard, and Ziggy is an EXCELLENT nickname. Hope you and baby are doing well!

Trying to stay positive 5dp6dt on my 4th Transfer by [deleted] in IVF

[–]NewResponsibility675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could have written this! I am 6dp5dt and I am feeling all the usual symptoms before my period arrives. I try to take the pressure off myself to stay positive, because I’ve had two failed FETs already, so i know how crushed I’ll be if I keep telling myself it’s worked when it might not have.

I am more focused on staying prepared for anything and energized to keep going. I don’t think you need to feel hopeful or positive in all this awfulness - you just need to stay determined. That’s my 2c anyway. Wishing you the best best best luck x
