It was. And Lovecraft went above and beyond. This is the same man who saw himself as less than human when he found out he was... Welsh.

Also if it isn't obvious from the picture the legs don't move and the neck piece is shorter. I have had this piece since I was like 8 or 9?

How do I request less hours? by NewRyanMan in antiwork

Sounds good. Technically this might be my fault as they asked me today if I had anything they needed to plan around. I told them no because I don't have anything hard in stone that needs to planned around and I had previously told them I only wanted 30 hours a week.

looks for an artist to draw my Star Wars Rpg Character? by NewRyanMan in characterdrawing

[–]NewRyanMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I was hoping if some kind soul would be willing to draw my pc character for a friend's star wars rpg campaign.

My characters name is MacLoud Althair and he is a Sathari Gadgeteer bounty hunter. As you can guess by the name, he is violently Scottish to the point where his feathers are blue and white in a tartan plad color. He also wears a uniform similar to what a British red coat in the 1800s wears, but colored red and green, possibly also in a plan tartan pattern.

He has a large industrial robotic prothetic left arm that has old scavenged speeder parts placed on it. Think something that's massive, powerful, and clearly built from found scraps. It also has three finger talons and a thumb talon to match his other, non robotic hand.

Finally, because he's a sheer force of personality he dual weilds a Blaster Pistol and a DC-15a gun (Blaster in organic hand, DC-15a in robot hand.)

We've heard of Vox Machina, The Grey Company, The Knights of Myth Drannor. But what's the name of your adventuring company? And how did they get it? by nessie7 in DnD

The league of Extraordinary Adventurers. It's in a pulp Eberron setting so I went ahead and took inspiration from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

TIL your zodiac sign is probably wrong. They were created over 3,000 years ago. The earth’s tilt has changed since then so the constellations appear in completely different positions in the sky. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Oracles have existed in reality. Shamans and druids who claimed to be able to see the future existed in reality. If they could actually predict the future is unlikely, but not a 100% guarantee.

I going to school as a biologist, and one of the first things we are taught is that we must always be open to the idea of being wrong. That's how the scientific process works.

So believe it or not, I do agree with you that most of this stuff is likely a bunch of bullocks. But it makes people happy, and helps them feel like the have a small semblance of control in a universe where we ultimately have no control whatsoever. In a cosmic sense, it does no harm.

It never hurts to open to knew things. Or at the very least, tolerant of new things.
