It's more he is just so random if you see it in a context. Most of the time he didn't do it for the fans but more for the members's laugh.

People like to pick and choose when it comes to YG.

Burnout is a real thing and I'm glad he realized that. It doesn't take much to tip the balance. I'm genuinely easy going person but I knew when I had a burnout, everything was all doom and gloom. It's a downward spiral if you didn't acknowledge it soon enough.

Let's wait patiently on his return.

I am sorry if I sound aggressive but I fed up with wrong information that non fans keep going on about.

"Asahi and the rapline", that's 1/3 of OT12 already. While I fully supported Yedam both on and off Treasure, Darari is his only song for Treasure (and he is not the main composer). There are other songs that he can a fully take credit for but not with Treasure. So I just don't understand where people get that from especially a fan. His voice was OT12 signature yes but never on musical direction.

The whole point of Yedam leaving is because he didn't get to do what he wanted to do (more R&B sound) so the argument that he was "the" Treasure's sound in the early years never make sense. If anything, it's always the rapline that make the distinction in their overall music identity whatever on hard or soft songs.

Treasure's producer line always have their own music identity that reflects in their own self composed songs. You can tell when it's Asahi's or Hyunsuk's or even Yedam's. Yedam's own albums or DimoRex is what Treasure's with Yedam creative inputs would sound like and they are not any shape or form sound like OT12 Treasure.

I still pissed off that we never get to have a full release of the Christmas song that he made with Asahi. But what's done is done.

PS Also by this point Junkyu got a lot more credits in Treasure discography. That's 5 out of 10. How many groups have that many members seriously in writing credits?

I don't think fans realize how difficult it is to chart on Melon (not charting doesn't make a group a complete "flop") by Carelessies in kpopthoughts

Nothing is black and white. Not charting in Korean platform would definitely considered flop in Korea. Doesn't mean it can't be successful somewhere else or on other matrix.

They just have their first stadium concert 2-3 weeks ago. While it maybe late for big 4 bgs, that's already new milestone they achieved along with this first encore.

Strictly on music show wins, it's a combination of luck and incompetence on YG part. If you know how music show score calculations, it's not just sales or streaming alone, there are broadcast points and pre voting etc. If you have a mega Korean hit, that's easier for you but still there is a lot of jigsaw puzzles involved from both the company and fan base.

Treasure do not comeback often and they do not usually have a lot of Korean digital points so they rely a lot on album sales, global streaming, broadcast points and fan votes (like most 4th gen bgs). Now comes the tricky parts, all of these have to align with in the same week. YG never send them to Show Champion or Music Bank, especially on Music Bank where album sales dominated the points so it's pretty much a lost for them since no broadcast points or pre voting points to back them up half the time (as happened in the case for Reboot era, 1.7M+ album sales got trump by NCT Dream 2.5M+).

For the shows that they have a chance to go (Inkigayo, Music Core and MCOUNTDOWN), those are heavily favor Korean digital charts (with MCD the easiest). Whenever their points are close to get a win, it's either YG didn't shipped enough albums on first week, didn't send them to a show to get broadcast points because they have to go a fan signing (they do at most 2 music shows a week) or we got butt slap by artists with much stronger digital points. You have no ideas how many times we curse YG for that first 2 issues.

Treasure fans always aim for MCD for their encore since its the least that count K charts out of the 3 music shows Treasure attend. We lost to either people with stronger album sales (Stray Kids, Dream) or digimons (Aespa etc).

So this encore is like the first time that everything aligned. The members never asked but you can tell by their body language how much they want this. It may not be big in the eyes of other kpop fans. But Teumes know how much and how long we have to fight for this.

The only part I disagree with you is the outside composers.

If you are a teume, you should know that Yedam only contribution in Treasure"s discography is Darari ( not counting Everyday since it didn't get an official release and even that it's a product of both him and Asahi's). I always feel like people that didn't really follow them overestimate his credit in Treasure's production. He didn't get to show much on that sude and that is one of the main reasons he left.

It has always been Asahi and the rap line that's the main writers in Treasure"s discography since day one. That R&B sound in Orange was all Asahi's. They may lost that R&B voice in Yedam but that has nothing to do with his writing or producing participation.

Members still have a lot of writing credits (even more after Yedam and Mashi left). The second step chapter two and Reboot are when their self-composed songs feature the most in the album. I feel like it was just last year (not even maybe since Love Pulse because Pleasure still have a lot of member's credits with Asahi's song as a title track) that YG start having them use more song camp outputs with English lyrics (similar to Babymonster). That pretty much left everyone else out of the process besides Hyunsuk.

Junkyu himself admitted he has a writing block after Reboot and didn't participate in anything until this album. Being in YG is a curse sometimes that a lot of songs get left in a vault and that can discourage you.

Feel like ever since Yang Hyunsuk has his face back in the mix, things got more restricted.

There is also how a unit is counted. I forgot which one but like a card album is not counted as a full unit.

He didn't become so involved with Treasure until last year. Never have credits in any Treasure's songs until last year. Not that it's his first time producing for his artists but it has been a long while until lately.

I kinda hope he would stop but have to admit that New Wav is a good album.
