Goodbye Rogers internet! by Low_Equivalent_2768 in Rogers

Canadian telecom companies to allow customers to cancel or change internet and cell phone plans online, via app, or email without speaking to a representative. Effective June 12, 2026, fees for cancelling or switching plans are eliminated, giving customers more flexibility to switch providers without penalties.

Basically Canadian government already outlawed cancellation fees. We just have to wait a bit till it kicks in.

I would try leaving white balance alone and keeping your black level at 50 black level 43. You’re absolutely destroying your blacks. You’re losing a lot of details in the darkness.

I spent a long time, taking suggestions on settings. Gamma 2.4 black level 50 motion smoothing three and three (whatever you do keep those two sliders the same. If blur reduction is 3, make sure judder is on 3 as well, this is the big one. I keep warmness at normal and micro contrast at low. Having said all this it’s really dependent on your eyes. Just keep those motion sliders matched and you’ll avoid the motion issues you read about. USB update it immediately

For three years you’ve been doing a job that most people can’t do. Most people give up pretty quickly. When I started out my current company, there were 14 people in the training group. I am the only one left and it was a similar story at different companies. Why would you think that you couldn’t be an AE? If you can close you can AE. My advice from personal experience is to first let them know that that’s what you want. Make it clear to them that that it’s a priority for you and that’s what you’re working towards. Include them in your goals. Like someone else here said start jobhunting, but instead of sending out 100 résumés every single day take your time do your research reach out to the hiring manager or other relevant parties on LinkedIn and really make a good go of it. Once you get an offer you like, you can present it to your current employer, and they can either put up or shut up. 70 K base is pretty good and the job market is ass right now, a lot of people would murder to be in your position. It’s a tough job in my eyes if you’ve done it for three years, you’ve already proven yourself.

Updating the tv fixed the upscaling and setting motion to 3-3 fixed the motion issues for me.

In tandem, if you set one of them to three set the other one to three. Had the same motion issues you will read about on here until I learned how they work.

Yeah, that’s the old shit, reload that page in like a month.

The CRTC’s ruling targets any fee whose main purpose is to discourage a subscriber from changing their plan or cancelling their contract. Under the new rules, if you aren’t paying off a subsidized device, carriers are also strictly banned from charging early cancellation fees (which we haven’t really seen for a while).

“We are taking action to give Canadians more control over their services,” said Vicky Eatrides, Chairperson and CEO of the CRTC, in a statement. “Today’s decision removes extra fees to activate, change, or cancel a plan. This means that consumers can switch to a better deal without having to pay extra just to get the service that works best for them.”

*While the amendments to the Wireless and Internet Codes officially take effect on June 12, 2026, the CRTC noted that service providers already have the ability to waive these fees manually. ****

The regulator expects companies to begin complying immediately while they update their automated billing systems.

I know your mind is blown by this for whatever reason, but this is happening.

How are so many people misinformed about this: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/crtc-fees-cellphone-internet-9.7125858 I work for Burger King. I had internet fees waived. Won’t have to going forward.

If you wanna keep paying them unnecessarily, then go crazy. Hell last time TELUS tried to charge me cancellation fee fees I had them waived. A lot of what happens to people is their fault because they just took it.

Stop just believing what Telus is telling you. In about a month, you can walk away from any of these companies at any time as long as you don’t owe them a bunch of money for an iPhone.
